Our Beef Wagyu Don Epcot Food and Wine Festival review covers taste, price, and portion size from Japan Pavilion’s 2025 festival menu.

Similar to the 2024 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, the front portion of the park offers one theme while the World Showcase area follows a more traditional theme. When you visit the 2025 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, the front portion of Epcot (formerly known as Future World) houses Global Marketplaces with autumn-themed items on the menus. However, the closer you get to the World Showcase, the cuisine style shifts to food and drinks inspired by various countries.
The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival gives guests the chance to sample international cuisine without the time and expense of a full meal. In a matter of minutes, guests can enjoy Japanese cuisine, followed by Moroccan and French if they so desire. With eleven countries featured in the World Showcase and additional Global Marketplaces serving unique flavors, the possibilities are impressive.
Beef Wagyu Don Epcot Japan Pavilion

Over at the Japan Pavilion, guests can order a new festival item for 2025: the Beef Wagyu Don Epcot specialty. Priced at $9.50, this dish comes in higher than many other festival options. For the record, we thought the price was steep before trying it—and even more so afterward.
According to the menu description, the Beef Wagyu Don consists of a traditional Japanese rice bowl with American wagyu beef blend over steamed white rice served with homemade pickles, shredded togarashi pepper, and pickled ginger. On paper, that sounds like an exciting addition to the Japan Pavilion menu.
Taste Test: Beef Wagyu Don Epcot

At the risk of sounding overly critical, this Epcot festival item falls short in several categories. The beef itself tasted subpar, and despite the label “American wagyu beef,” it was difficult to believe this was authentic Wagyu. The pickled ginger element also didn’t balance the dish as intended. Portion size was another letdown. For $9.50, we expected something more substantial compared to other dishes at the festival.
Should You Try It?
Overall, we struggle to recommend the Beef Wagyu Don Epcot menu item. In fairness, our group has only tried it twice during the 2025 festival, so perhaps your experience will differ. Still, given the price point and underwhelming flavors, we suggest exploring other Japan Pavilion festival dishes instead.
Worth It or Skip It? Beef Wagyu Don Epcot
Pros
- Unique Japanese-inspired dish for the festival
- Nice presentation with traditional toppings
- Adds variety to the Japan Pavilion menu
Cons
- $9.50 price tag is high for portion size
- Beef quality did not live up to “wagyu” expectations
- Pickled ginger and flavor balance missed the mark
👉 Verdict: Skip it. Unless you’re a die-hard fan of Japanese rice bowls, the Beef Wagyu Don Epcot dish doesn’t deliver enough value or flavor compared to other 2025 Epcot Food & Wine Festival offerings.
