The Epcot Food & Wine Gyozas of the Galaxy Global Marketplace serves up three creative dumpling dishes inspired by bold flavors from around the world. While we heard wonderful things about this Global Marketplace, our visit on its second day of operation brought high and lows.

Not all the Global Marketplaces opened for business on the opening day of the 2025 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. For example, the Festival Favorites food and beverage location waited to open on September 21 following the closure of Grab n’ Goof.

Two other Global Marketplaces planned to open on Sunday September 28. Those include:
- Coastal Eats – serving Lump Crab Cake, Peruvian Ceviche, and Seaside Pot Pie
- Gyozas of the Galaxy – Three types of dumplings
The 2025 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is serving up something new for dumpling lovers at the Gyozas of the Galaxy Global Marketplace. This brand-new Global Marketplace is all about bold flavors wrapped in delicate dough, offering three inventive takes on the classic gyoza. From Buffalo-style to French Onion Soup-style to Street Corn-style, each dumpling delivers a unique twist that makes this stop a must-try on your festival foodie journey.
Gyoza: What is a Gyoza Anyway?

The term “Gyoza” does not come from Marvel lore. In fact, nothing about the Gyozas of the Galaxy Global Marketplace relates directly to the “Guardians of the Galaxy” movie franchise. Still, what is a Gyoza?
Gyoza are Japanese crescent-shaped dumplings, famously known as “potstickers.” They originated from the Chinese jiaozi but evolved with thinner wrappers and a distinct, often more garlicky filling. They typically consist of minced pork, cabbage, and aromatics such as garlic, ginger, and chives.
The most common preparation is yaki gyoza, which involves pan-frying the bottoms until crispy, then steaming them with water to achieve a soft, juicy top and a crunchy base. They are usually served with a simple dipping sauce of soy sauce, rice vinegar, and often chili oil. Gyoza are a popular appetizer found in restaurants ranging from ramen shops to specialty establishments. However, the Walt Disney World chefs designed some unique gyoza for guests to enjoy through November 22 when the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival concludes.

Epcot Food & Wine Menu
The Gyozas of the Galaxy food menu looks like this:
- Buffalo-style Dumplings – Chicken Dumplings with Buffalo Sauce, Celery Root Purée, Blue Cheese Cream, Crumbled Blue Cheese, Shaved Carrot, and Micro Celery
- Street Corn-style Dumplings – Chicken Dumplings with Tomatillo Salsa Verde, Street Corn Salad, Cotija Cheese, Lime Crema, and Cilantro
- French Onion Soup-style Dumplings – Pork and Beef Soup Dumplings with Caramelized Onions, Sherry-Beef Broth, Onion and Gruyère Soubise, Parmesan Cracker, and Micro Chives

Each version costs six dollars. Still, what makes Gyozas of the Galaxy stand out is its playful approach to comfort food. Instead of sticking to traditional fillings, Disney’s culinary team has reimagined the dumpling as a canvas for international and popular flavors.
Gyozas of the Galaxy: Buffalo-style Dumplings

Guests looking for a bit of heat will want to start with the Buffalo-style Dumplings. These come with chicken (though not as much as we expected) and are coated in buffalo sauce. They are balanced by celery root purée, blue cheese cream, and crumbled blue cheese, all topped with shaved carrot and micro celery for the ultimate bite inspired by wings. We would define the “heat” from these dumplings as theme park-level spicy kick. Additionally, the spicy kick level varied significantly among our three dumplings, so guests should be prepared for this potential variation.

Of the three Gyozas of the Galaxy Global Marketplace food offerings we enjoyed recently, this provided the least flavor. Food enthusiasts seeking a solid Buffalo sauce flavor will find it in these. However, those looking for powerful, robust flavors will most likely not find them in this festival offering. Still, for only six dollars, it is hard to complain about this option.
Gyozas of the Galaxy: French Onion Soup-style Dumplings

The Gyozas of the Galaxy Global Marketplace also offers French Onion Soup-style dumplings, which transform the classic comfort soup into a Japanese fusion-style dish. These pork and beef dumplings come within a soup filled with caramelized onions, sherry-beef broth, onion and Gruyère soubise, and a parmesan cracker for crunch, finished with fresh micro chives. If you ever wanted to know what French onion soup tastes like with dumplings in it. Gyozas of the Galaxy has a festival item just for you.

This festival food item is served in a bowl, unlike the other two dumpling dishes, which are served on a plate. Additionally, guests should consider this a soup rather than a dumpling dish. The bites with dumplings and the soup show off the intended flavor. However, the soup tastes just average on its own. As a result, this festive food option is good but inconsistent.

Also, for planning purposes, the French Onion Soup-style Dumplings appear to be the most challenging for the cast members to prepare. So, if you order this, you can expect a longer wait.
Gyozas of the Galaxy: Street Corn-style Dumplings

For those craving something bright and zesty, the Street Corn-style Dumplings combine chicken dumplings with tomatillo salsa verde, a street corn salad, cotija cheese, lime crema, and cilantro. We found this made an excellent, flavorful festival snack. While some guests may not appreciate the flavor combination within these dumplings, those seeking a Latin-inspired flavor will find it in these, created by Walt Disney World chefs.

While we desired more flavor from within the dumplings, the “toppings” cause these gyozas to shine. During our most recent visit, we found these to be the best option. In fairness, some colleagues expressed that they enjoyed the French Onion Soup-style Dumplings more than this option. The Gyaozas of the Galaxy Global Marketplace offers a variety of flavors so guests should find an option they enjoy.
With three inventive dishes on the menu, the Gyozas of the Galaxy Global Marketplace is sure to be one of the most popular stops at this year’s Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. Whether you’re a dumpling enthusiast or simply looking to try something brand new, these creative bites deliver flavors that are both familiar and exciting.
This Global Marketplace works well for those looking for a new concept at the 2025 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. The dumplings do remind us of an old food concept from Energy Bytes, the kiosk near Tron Lightcycle / Run. For the record, those did not last long. Additionally, we wish the use of the Marvel intellectual property were tied together more clearly with the dumplings.
