A fresh spot for ice cream, specialty coffee, and grab-and-go treats officially opened in early April right beside Mango Market at Aquatica Orlando. We recently visited to try the ice cream at Sunrise Sips and Scoops.
Aquatica Orlando, an excellent water park operated in conjunction with SeaWorld Orlando, expanded its dining lineup with a charming new culinary addition. Sunrise Sips and Scoops sits right next door to the existing Mango Market. As its name promises, it’s a dedicated, one-stop shop for ice cream scoops, morning coffee brews, premium donuts, pastries, signature donut sundaes, and quick grab-and-go snacks.
The colorful light-blue building with bold purple doors is hard to miss. On a scorching Central Florida day, the promise of premium ice cream and chilled beverages will draw you right in. The location has quickly become a park favorite, even featuring exclusive rewards like limited-time weekday free scoop promotions for Annual Pass Members and event-exclusive specialties like the Rainbow Cheesecake Cone during the park’s vibrant nighttime AquaGlow events.
We visited twice on the same day to put two flavors to the test. Here’s what we found.
What We Ordered
Single scoops are priced at $9.49, whether you go with a bowl or a cone, the price is the same. Guests can pay a few dollars more for two scoops. At a major theme park, that price point is fairly typical, but the good news is that the portion size genuinely delivers. Both servings were generously scooped and felt worth the price relative to what you’d expect at a similar Central Florida venue. While many of the standard ice cream flavors (selection may vary) were there, we went with the Cookie Dough Ice Cream for our first option.
Cookie Dough Ice Cream
The first of our two ice cream choices was the cookie dough. It came with plenty of ice cream in a bowl. The ice cream itself was well above average in terms of flavor or creaminess. However, the cookie dough portion was average at best. Overall, it made a solid theme park ice cream option.
Mint Chocolate Chip — Waffle Cone
Round two of our taste test was the clear winner. The mint chocolate chip arrived in a crisp, proper cone with a massive scoop in a bright, classic green, with chunky chocolate pieces mixed throughout. For theme park ice cream, this one genuinely impressed. The mint flavor was clean and refreshing without tasting artificial, and the chocolate chunks gave it a great, satisfying texture. On a sunny afternoon, it hit the spot perfectly.
Sunrise Sips and Scoops Provides a Nice Upgrade
Sunrise Sips and Scoops is an incredibly welcome addition to Aquatica Orlando’s overall dining lineup. At a water park with limited food options, unless you only want pizza, Sunrise Sips and Scoops enhances the dining options. If you’re looking for a quick way to cool off after a long day conquering high-thrill water slides like Riptide Race or relaxing in the wave pools, the ice cream is a solid pick, especially the mint chocolate chip.
The $9.49 price tag aligns with standard theme park pricing, and the heavy-handed portion size means you won’t walk away feeling shortchanged. While we noted the ice cream has the distinct hallmarks of a high-quality, nationally distributed brand (SeaWorld properties historically carry Edy’s Ice Cream), the refreshing quality speaks for itself. Whether you need a morning caffeine kick before hitting the slides or a sugary afternoon cooldown, this vibrant little shop is well worth a stop on your next park visit during your day at Aquatica Orlando.
