From sandwiches to slices, the Aquatica Orlando restaurant change brings less menu variety and more cost-cutting. Papa’s Pizza replaces Kura’s Beachside Paninis.

Theme park dining is often a roller coaster in itself. Sometimes thrilling, sometimes terrifying, and sometimes you just wonder, “Why am I standing in this line for a $12 pretzel?” However, over at Aquatica Orlando, SeaWorld’s water park, a recent Aquatica Orlando restaurant change has caught the attention of guests.

Recently, Kura’s Beachside Panini, the park’s quick-service spot that dared to serve something other than pizza, chicken strips, and burgers, was quietly retired. In its place? Drumroll please… Papa’s Pizza!

Yes, Aquatica Orlando decided to replace its panini shop with another pizza kiosk. Still, here’s the kicker: it’s the exact same menu as Walkabout Pizza, the park’s existing pizza kiosk. So congratulations, pizza lovers! You can now choose between Pizza Location A and Pizza Location B, with the same crust, cheese, pepperoni, and menu board. The thrill of variety looks to be dying with this Aquatica Orlando restaurant change.

When Paninis Walked So Pizza Could Run

Let’s take a moment to remember Kura’s Beachside Panini. This was the spot where, against all odds, you could order something that sounded fancy, a chicken pesto panini that actually had flavor beyond melted mozzarella. Don’t believe me? We wrote about it right here, and spoiler: it was one of those rare water park meals worth biting into.

Sure, it wasn’t going to win a Michelin star, but when you’re sunburned, waterlogged, and carrying three tubes for your family, that pressed sandwich was a delightful break from the predictable pizza-and-chicken-tender gauntlet. Still, alas, paninis have been sent to the great carb graveyard in the sky. However, in their place stands Papa’s Pizza, whose main innovation is… an apostrophe in the name.

Aquatica Orlando Restaurant Change: Double the Pizza, Double the Fun?

Walkabout Pizza

Here’s the issue: Aquatica already had a pizza kiosk. Walkabout Pizza served the exact flatbread-style pizzas, meaning that Papa’s Pizza is essentially a copy-paste dining location. It’s like showing up at a buffet, only to discover that every single tray is filled with the same spaghetti.

Guests walking around the park will now find themselves in a bizarre game of “Spot the Pizza Stand.” Is that Papa’s Pizza or Walkabout Pizza? Does it even matter? The only difference is whether you stand in one line or the other. It’s the culinary equivalent of wearing two left shoes.

Aquatica Orlando Restaurant Change: A Slice of Cost Cutting

Aquatica Orlando restaurant change

Bad jokes aside, this Aquatica Orlando restaurant change isn’t just a funny little swap. It’s a sign of where the park’s dining is headed. With limited food options already, the closure of Kura’s Beachside Panini further reduces the park’s variety. Instead of giving guests multiple cuisines to choose from, Aquatica doubled down on pizza.

Why? The likely answer is cost-cutting. Pizza is inexpensive, easy to prepare, and quick to serve. Still, what gets lost in the shuffle is the guest experience. Theme park dining may not always be five-star dining, but people notice when menus shrink. Nonetheless, right now, Aquatica’s menu variety feels more shallow than the kiddie splash pool.

The Website Oopsie

Adding to the confusion, the official Aquatica Orlando dining page currently lists Kura’s Beachside Panini as “open seasonally.” Except, well, it’s not. Papa’s Pizza? Nowhere to be found on the site.

So if you’re doing your homework before visiting, you might head into the park excited to grab a panini, only to discover your dreams squashed like grilled ciabatta under a panini press. Instead, you’ll be handed a flatbread pizza. Surprise!

We’ll Always Have Paninis

Look, pizza has its place. It’s kid-friendly, shareable, and it keeps the lines moving. Still, losing Kura’s Beachside Panini is more than just a menu swap. It’s a loss of variety in a park that desperately needs it. Aquatica Orlando already had limited dining options, and removing one of the few unique ones feels like a step backward. So here’s to you, chicken pesto panini. You gave us hope, you gave us grilled bread that crunched in the Florida sun, and you gave us something other than another slice of pepperoni.

Now, with Papa’s Pizza stepping into your sandals, this Aquatica Orlando restaurant change has officially created a “Pizza Multiverse.” Still, when it comes to dining, the park seems to have adopted a new motto: If at first you succeed… just do the exact same thing again.
