Moana Disney treats are coming to Walt Disney World with two tropical snacks, but at least one new dessert at Disney’s Animal Kingdom has been delayed.

Walt Disney World is preparing to welcome two new tropical treats inspired by Disney’s Moana, giving guests another delicious way to celebrate the release of the new live-action film. Disney shared a first look at the upcoming menu items on social media on July 7, revealing that one treat is headed to Disney’s Animal Kingdom while the other is coming to Epcot. Although Disney has not announced an official debut date for either of the Moana Disney treats, the themed snacks are expected to coincide with the release of the new live-action Moana movie, which arrives in theaters this Friday.

The upcoming Motunui Ube Sundae will be served at the Anandapur Ice Cream Truck in the Asia section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. According to Disney, the sundae will feature: Ube soft-serve, tropical fruits, coconut, raspberry crumbs, and macadamia.

Inspired by the vibrant island of Motunui, the colorful dessert is expected to become one of the resort’s most eye-catching frozen treats this summer. However, after Disney shared the announcement, the Main Street Magic team quickly visited Disney’s Animal Kingdom on July 7 to see if the dessert had already arrived. Cast members at the Anandapur Ice Cream Truck told us the Motunui Ube Sundae is not expected to be available until sometime next week. Disney has not confirmed an official opening day, so guests planning a visit this week should not expect to find it just yet.

Disney also announced the Heihei Delight, which will be available from The Land Cart near The Land Pavilion at Epcot. The tropical beverage includes:

  • A pineapple and coconut blend
  • Fresh pineapple slice
  • SKITTLES POP’d Original Freeze Dried Candy

Named after Moana’s lovable rooster companion, the colorful drink appears to be a refreshing option for guests looking to cool off during the Florida summer. Like the Motunui Ube Sundae, Disney has announced the treat but has not provided an official debut date.

Moana Disney Treats: Celebrating Moana’s Return to Theaters

The two limited-time Moana Disney treats are designed to celebrate the release of Disney’s new live-action Moana, which opens in theaters this Friday. Disney frequently introduces themed food and beverages around major film releases, giving guests another way to experience the excitement both inside and outside the parks. While Disney has yet to announce exactly when these treats will become available, they should arrive soon as part of the movie’s promotional celebration. We’ll continue monitoring both locations and will update as soon as Disney officially announces an availability date or the treats begin appearing at Walt Disney World.
