Traitors New Blood Bar opens today at Universal CityWalk, bringing the hit NBC and Peacock franchise to Universal’s Great Movie Escape.

Fans of Peacock’s hit reality competition series The Traitors have a new place to plot, scheme, and raise a glass at Universal CityWalk Orlando. A new The Traitors: New Blood-themed bar opens soon at Universal’s Great Movie Escape, bringing one of NBCUniversal’s biggest television franchises into the Universal Orlando Resort entertainment district just days before the series makes its NBC debut. We expect a soft opening today and a full opening soon after, probably Saturday.

The new bars (Traitors has take over the upstairs and downstairs bars) is located inside Universal’s Great Movie Escape, the separately ticketed entertainment experience located on the Upper Promenade at Universal CityWalk. The venue is home to two movie inspired escape adventures, Back to the Future: OUTATIME and Jurassic World: Escape, and has long featured bar areas incorporated into the attraction’s lobby and upper level. Universal’s CityWalk map lists Great Movie Escape among the district’s entertainment and nightlife offerings.

The arrival of The Traitors: New Blood gives the venue a new television connection at a particularly convenient time. NBC will premiere The Traitors: New Blood on Thursday, September 17, just a few days after the new Universal CityWalk bar opens. The two-hour premiere begins at 8 p.m. ET, with new episodes continuing on NBC before becoming available to stream the following day on Peacock.

The location makes plenty of sense for the franchise. Universal CityWalk Orlando is already designed around dining, drinks and entertainment, giving The Traitors a natural place to move from the television screen into a real-world setting.

Universal’s Great Movie Escape sits along the Upper Promenade of CityWalk, close to the main flow of guests moving between the parking garages and Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure. The attraction has a movie theater inspired lobby filled with memorabilia and themed details from its two existing escape adventures.

That existing atmosphere provides an interesting foundation for the new activation. Rather than creating a completely separate entertainment venue elsewhere at Universal Orlando, The Traitors: New Blood is being incorporated into an attraction that already has a dedicated bar environment.

The Great Movie Escape has featured bar service on both levels of the venue. One bar is located on the main level near the Back to the Future experience, while another is located upstairs near Jurassic World: Escape. The upper level also provides lounge seating overlooking the lobby, making the space particularly well-suited for guests who want to settle in with a drink before or after exploring CityWalk. For the new Traitors activation, that setting gets an entirely different personality. The franchise is built around suspicion, secrets, alliances, and betrayal, so a themed bar is a natural extension of the world established by the television series.

The Traitors Moves From Peacock to NBC

The timing of the new bar may be the most interesting part of this announcement. The Traitors has become one of Peacock’s most recognizable original franchises, with the celebrity edition hosted by Alan Cumming developing a devoted audience around its unusual combination of reality television, murder mystery, strategy, and social deduction. The show places contestants into the roles of Faithfuls and Traitors, with the Traitors secretly attempting to eliminate the Faithfuls while the Faithfuls attempt to identify and banish the Traitors.

Now NBC is taking the franchise to a much larger television audience. The Traitors: New Blood is the first U.S. version of the series built around an all-civilian cast. Instead of bringing another group of reality television personalities and celebrities into the Scottish Highlands, this edition features everyday Americans competing for a prize of up to $250,000.

Alan Cumming returns as host, once again presiding over the castle as contestants attempt to figure out who among them can actually be trusted. NBC has positioned New Blood as part of its 2026 fall television lineup, with the supersized two-hour premiere scheduled for September 17. The series then continues on NBC, with episodes also available to stream on Peacock. That makes the new CityWalk bar an especially well timed piece of NBCUniversal synergy.

Traitors New Blood Bar: A Perfect Fit for Universal CityWalk

Universal Orlando has increasingly used CityWalk as a place where entertainment, dining and recognizable intellectual properties can overlap. The Traitors provides another opportunity to do exactly that. A guest could spend the day at Universal Studios Florida or Universal Islands of Adventure, head to CityWalk for dinner, and then stop at Great Movie Escape for a drink surrounded by The Traitors: New Blood theming.

For fans of the series, the attraction also provides something that watching at home cannot. The television show is all about trying to determine who is lying and who is telling the truth. Put a group of friends together at a Traitors themed bar, and suddenly everyone becomes suspicious. At least one person in the group is probably a Traitor.

The new bar also gives NBCUniversal a chance to introduce the franchise to guests who may not already be regular Peacock viewers. With The Traitors: New Blood premiering on NBC on September 17, the activation is arriving at exactly the right moment to turn existing fans into even bigger fans while potentially introducing the franchise to an entirely new television audience. For Universal Orlando guests, meanwhile, it is another reason to spend some time exploring CityWalk after leaving the theme parks.

With the NBC premiere arriving September 17, the timing could hardly be more appropriate. Now the question is simple: Are you a Faithful, or are you secretly a Traitor? However, whatever you do, choose your drinking companions carefully.
