If you’re looking for a breakfast that can power you through a full day at Walt Disney World, the Steakhouse 71 Breakfast Burger may be one of the most satisfying options you’ll find anywhere on property. Located inside Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Steakhouse 71 has built a loyal following since opening in 2021. While many guests know the restaurant for its popular lunch Stack Burger and dinner offerings, breakfast remains a hidden gem in the Walt Disney World dining scene. On a recent visit, we were reminded exactly why.

Located on the ground floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Steakhouse 71 offers a nostalgic nod to the year the iconic A-frame hotel and Magic Kingdom first welcomed guests. Replacing The Wave… of American Flavors, this family-friendly table-service restaurant blends sleek 1970s retro design with modern sophistication. Guests are greeted by a hallway lined with black-and-white photos documenting the construction of Walt Disney World, grounding the experience in rich company heritage.

The menu leans into classic American steakhouse comfort, showcasing several of Walt Disney’s own favorite flavors. Diners can enjoy everything from a hearty prime rib breakfast hash to expertly prepared filet mignon, a standout prime rib sandwich at lunch, and a signature 15-layer chocolate cake. Balancing an approachable, relaxed atmosphere with surprisingly high-quality cuts at a reasonable price point, Steakhouse 71 is a premier casual dining destination just a short walk or monorail ride away from the Magic Kingdom.

Starting the Morning at Steakhouse 71

During a recent visit, we had an 8:55 a.m. reservation at Steakhouse 71. After checking in and being seated, we decided to split one of our favorite breakfast items at Walt Disney World: the Breakfast Burger.

Part of that decision was practical. Our talented food reporters often do not eat much for breakfast. They also had a busy day at Walt Disney World ahead of them. Between attractions, Lightning Lanes, transportation, and the miles of walking that come with a theme park day, they wanted something substantial without ordering multiple entrées. So, the Steakhouse 71 Breakfast Burger fit the bill.

What Comes on the Steakhouse 71 Breakfast Burger?

According to Walt Disney World ‘s official menu, the Steakhouse 71 Breakfast Burger features two pressed beef patties topped with pork belly, avocado, a fried egg, and a hash brown patty. The entrée is normally served with fresh fruit and is priced at $23.00. Disney Dining Plan credits can be used for the meal, and Walt Disney World Annual Passholders and Disney Visa cardholders receive a 10% discount on eligible food purchases.

During our visit, we made one small modification. Instead of the fresh fruit, we substituted breakfast potatoes. No offense to fruit, but the potatoes were calling our name!

First Impressions

When the burger arrived at the table, the first thing that stood out was the size. Photos don’t fully communicate just how large this burger really is. Two beef patties, thick slices of pork belly, avocado, a fried egg, and a crispy hash brown create a towering breakfast sandwich that immediately feels more substantial than your typical Walt Disney World breakfast entrée.

This isn’t a light start to the day. It’s also one of the most unique breakfast dishes currently available at Walt Disney World. Still, at first glance, it almost seems excessive. A burger for breakfast with pork belly and hash browns? It sounds like something that shouldn’t work. Then you take a bite.

Steakhouse 71 Breakfast Burger Overall Flavor

The magic of the Steakhouse 71 Breakfast Burger is how well the individual components complement one another. The beef patties provide a rich, savory foundation that feels more lunch than breakfast. The pork belly adds a smoky, slightly sweet flavor while contributing even more richness to the sandwich.

What keeps the burger from becoming overwhelming is the avocado and fried egg. The avocado introduces a creamy texture that balances the meat-heavy profile, while the egg adds another layer of breakfast flavor without turning the sandwich into a greasy mess. The hash brown patty may be the unsung hero of the entire dish, bringing a crisp texture that contrasts perfectly with the softer ingredients.

Each bite contains a little bit of everything, which is a good thing. Rather than feeling like breakfast foods piled onto a burger, the ingredients work together to create something unique. It’s a breakfast sandwich, a burger, and a brunch entrée all rolled into one. The result is surprisingly balanced.

Perfect Fuel for a Park Day

One of the biggest compliments we can give the Steakhouse 71 Breakfast Burger is that it accomplished exactly what we needed it to do. Even split between two people, it was plenty of food. By the time we finished, we felt fully fueled for a long day in the parks without needing to stop for another meal just a few hours later.

For guests planning a full day at Magic Kingdom, the location makes the meal even more appealing. Since Steakhouse 71 is located inside Disney’s Contemporary Resort, you’re only a short walk away from the park entrance after breakfast. Whether you’re rope-dropping attractions, planning Lightning Lane reservations, or simply preparing for a marathon day of Walt Disney World fun, this burger provides enough protein and substance to keep you going. It’s the kind of meal that should carry you through until mid-afternoon.

Service and Atmosphere

Beyond the food, Steakhouse 71 continues to impress as one of Walt Disney World’s most consistently enjoyable dining locations. The restaurant strikes an excellent balance between casual and upscale. The mid-century modern design pays tribute to the opening year of Disney’s Contemporary Resort while maintaining a relaxed atmosphere that works equally well for families, couples, and solo travelers. Walt Disney World describes the restaurant as a stylish yet casual steakhouse inspired by Disney heritage.

Service during our visit was excellent, as it almost always is here. Cast members were friendly, attentive, and efficient throughout the meal. That’s one reason Steakhouse 71 continues to rank among our favorite resort restaurants. While Steakhouse 71 does not qualify as signature dining, it remains reliable no matter when you visit. Of course, we would suggest visiting in the morning for the Steakhouse 71 Breakfast Burger.

Is the Steakhouse 71 Breakfast Burger Worth It?

Absolutely, we think so. At $23, the Steakhouse 71 Breakfast Burger isn’t inexpensive by traditional breakfast standards, but Walt Disney World dining isn’t exactly known for bargain pricing. Considering the portion size, ingredient quality, and the fact that two people can comfortably share it, the value is actually quite reasonable. The combination of beef, pork belly, egg, avocado, and crispy hash browns creates one of the most memorable breakfast dishes currently available on Walt Disney World property.

Still, it won’t be for everyone. Guests looking for something light may be better served by a traditional breakfast entrée. Still, if you’re hungry, looking for something different, or simply want one of the most substantial breakfasts at Walt Disney World, this burger deserves a spot on your dining list.
