From garlic toast to a giant onion ring, we break down the Regal Eagle BBQ Burger at Epcot. Is this the ultimate theme park comfort food or just an average quick-service burger?

Epcot at Walt Disney World has so much to offer regarding dining. Still, quality quick-service options can be a challenge to find throughout the theme park. Sure, the festival food is nice. However, what if you just want a simple meal? Perhaps you have passed the scent of crepes in France and the enticing spice of Morocco. If so, you’ll eventually hit the American Adventure. There, standing tall like a beacon of smoked meats and patriotism, is Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue. During a recent visit, we put their signature BBQ Burger to the test. Is it a culinary firework, or just a backyard sparkler?
The Anatomy of the Regal Eagle BBQ Burger

First, let’s look at the specs. For $15.49, you’re getting a 1/3 lb Angus Burger served on griddled garlic toast. It’s topped with a generous portion of BBQ pork, lettuce, tomato, garlic aïoli, and a fried onion ring. Oh, and it comes with your choice of side, because what’s a burger without a little mac and cheese or baked beans to keep it company?
The Appearance: A Tower of Freedom

This Regal Eagle BBQ Burger doesn’t lack for ego. It’s served in a rustic cardboard boat, which is fitting because you’re basically voyaging through a sea of calories.
- The Crown: That fried onion ring isn’t just a topping; it’s a structural support beam. It looks like it could double as a teething ring for a baby giant.
- The Foundation: Using garlic toast instead of a bun is a bold move. It gives the burger a square, sturdy look that says, “I’m here to ruin your diet, and I’m going to have some Texas style while doing it.”
- The Extras: You can see the BBQ pork peeking out from under the toast like it’s trying to escape, and that tiny American flag on top is the literal cherry on top that would make Sam Eagle of the Muppets happy.
The Taste Test: Is It “Eagletastic”?

Let’s be serious: this is an average burger. Still, in a theme park, “average” can actually be a compliment. The Regal Eagle BBQ Burger patty is juicy enough, but the real flavor comes from the pulled pork and the barbecue sauce. The garlic toast adds a nice buttery crunch. Nonetheless, we are still searching for the “garlic” in the garlic aïoli. It’s more of a “suggestion” of garlic than a full-blown conversation.
The fried onion ring adds a nice texture, but eating this thing is a logistical nightmare. Unless you have the jaw unhinging capabilities of a python, you’re probably going to need a fork and a knife at some point. Additionally, those looking for a “safer” dining option at Epcot will appreciate this burger. It’s familiar, hearty, and lacks the “adventurous” spices that might scare off the less-daring members of your party.
The Sides & The Vibe

We paired the Regal Eagle BBQ Burger with the macaroni & cheese, and it was exactly what the doctor (probably) didn’t order. Creamy, topped with breadcrumbs, and just enough to make us want to take a nap in the American Gardens Theatre immediately afterward.
Is this the best macaroni & cheese on Walt Disney World Resort property? Clearly, no! Does it function as decent quick-service macaroni & cheese? Yes, especially with the decline in macaroni & cheese quality.
Regal Eagle BBQ Burger at Epcot

The BBQ Burger at Regal Eagle Smokehouse is the comfort food equivalent of a warm hug from Sam Eagle himself. It’s not going to win any Michelin stars, but it’s a solid, filling meal that justifies its price tag compared to other theme park options.
Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue
Located in the American Adventure pavilion at Epcot, Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue serves as a salute to backyard barbecue techniques from across the United States. The restaurant features a large outdoor smoker that fills the air with the aroma of slow-cooked meats, signaling its focus on regional American flavors.
The menu highlights four distinct barbecue styles: Memphis dry-rub pork ribs, Kansas City smoked chicken, South Carolina mustard pork, and Texas beef brisket. Each dish is paired with a signature sauce representing these culinary traditions. Beyond the meat-centric options, the smokehouse offers a plant-based jackfruit burger and a variety of classic sides like garlic toast, seasoned fries, and house-made pickles.
The interior decor is themed around a celebration of “A Salute to All Nations But Mostly America,” hosted by Sam Eagle of the Muppets. It provides a spacious, high-ceilinged dining area with patriotic touches and comfortable seating. Outside, a walk-up bar serves a selection of American craft beers and wines, making it a popular spot for guests to relax while exploring the World Showcase.
