The Seven Seas Food Festival at SeaWorld Orlando continues to evolve as new menu items rotate in, and the third round of offerings is shaping up to be one of the strongest yet. Among the latest additions, the Chicken Asado Tacos with Blue Corn Tortillas stand out as a noticeable step forward compared to earlier festival bites.

Seven Seas Food Festival

Things are winding down with the SeaWorld Orlando Seven Seas Food Festival that runs through May 17. We have reached the third and final rotation of food. On the first day of the third rotation, we went to the Mexico Marketplace to try the Chicken Asado Tacos. After a somewhat underwhelming start with the first taco offering. and a stronger showing in the second rotation, this third version lands firmly in the “worth your time” category.

A Strong Showing for Rotation Three

Priced at $11.99 without a sampler lanyard, the Chicken Asado Tacos arrive as a two-taco serving featuring grilled chicken, blue corn tortillas, mango, salsa, and cilantro crema. Right away, presentation impresses. These tacos look vibrant and inviting, with generous portions that immediately signal good value.

Also, generous really is the keyword here. Each taco is absolutely loaded with filling, arguably too loaded. While it’s hard to complain about getting plenty of food for your money, the sheer volume does create some structural challenges.

Seven Seas Tacos Review: Flavor That Mostly Delivers

From a taste perspective, this dish largely succeeds. The grilled chicken is flavorful and well-prepared, serving as a solid foundation for the rest of the ingredients. The mango and salsa don’t overpower the dish but instead act as complementary elements, adding a subtle sweetness and brightness that balance the savory chicken.

The cilantro crema, while present, still feels like it’s holding back a bit. It adds some creaminess, but a stronger flavor punch would elevate the tacos even further. Still, taken as a whole, the flavor profile works…and works well.

Seven Seas Tacos Review: Where Things Fall Apart (Literally)

Unfortunately, the biggest issue with these tacos comes down to construction. The blue corn tortillas simply can’t handle the weight and moisture of the overloaded fillings. Within a few bites, they begin to break down, leading to a messy eating experience. Expect ingredients to spill and tortillas to tear apart quickly.

To be fair, it’s a tasty mess, but a mess nonetheless. This is one of those cases where slightly scaling back the portion or reinforcing the tortilla could make a big difference in overall enjoyment. While we appreciate the use of the blue corn tortillas to make the Seven Seas tacos unique, the structural integrity fails.

Comparing the Taco Trio

Looking at all three taco iterations so far, this third version is easily among the best. The first taco was just okay, lacking the balance and execution needed to stand out. The second round improved significantly, and now this third offering continues that upward trend with better flavors and more satisfying portions. This was our second festival item of the third rotation. Still, it has a chance to be one of the best. We will know more after this weekend when we try the other 12 new menu items in the third rotation.

Sampler Lanyard Consideration

As always with the Seven Seas Food Festival, guests should consider whether a sampler lanyard makes sense for their visit. These lanyards allow you to sample multiple items at a reduced per-item cost, which can be especially valuable when dishes like this taco offering are priced at $11.99 individually. If you’re planning to try several booths throughout the day, the lanyard remains one of the best ways to maximize value at the festival.

The Chicken Asado Tacos with Blue Corn Tortillas are a clear win for rotation three at SeaWorld Orlando’s Seven Seas Food Festival. Despite some structural flaws, the generous portions and well-balanced flavors make this a worthwhile stop. Just be prepared to get a little messy along the way. With the festival running through May 17 on Thursdays through Sundays, there’s still plenty of time to check out this and other rotation three offerings.
