Killer Klowns HHN 35

Cotton candy cocoons are back. Guests can enjoy the Killer Klowns HHN 35 fun and get ready for a brand-new invasion on the streets of Universal Studios.

The extraterrestrial circus tent is landing once again. Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights just dropped a massive teaser on social media with a simple yet ominous warning: “Klown around and find out.”

The official post confirmed that the iconic, popcorn-shooting, cotton-candy-spinning extraterrestrials from the 1988 cult classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space are officially coming back to the streets of Universal Studios Florida for HHN 35 in 2026.

With the brief teaser promising “more deets coming soon,” horror fans are already scrambling to prepare for the invasion. To get ready for the colorful chaos ahead, let’s take a trip down memory lane and look at how these wacky invaders earned their place in event history before we experience Killer Klowns HHN 35 in a few weeks.

The History of Killer Klowns at Universal Orlando

While these mischievous invaders have wreaked havoc across multiple Universal parks over the years, their footprint at Universal Orlando Resort is legendary. Here is how they paved the way for their highly anticipated return for Killer Klowns HHN 35:

The Invasion Begins: The Debut Scare Zone – HHN 28 (2018)

The Killer Klowns made their very first appearance at Universal Orlando Resort in a dedicated scare zone located on South Street in the New York backlot. Complete with shadow puppets, cotton candy cocoons, and the Terenzi brothers’ ice cream truck, this zone was an instant fan favorite.

The Main Event: The Haunted House – HHN 29 (2019)

Due to the overwhelming popularity of the scare zone, Universal Orlando Resort upgraded the IP into a full-fledged haunted house located in the former Shrek Theater. This house brought iconic movie moments to life, including the baby Klowns, the deadly pizza box gag, and interactive guest-activated triggers (GATs) that sprayed unsuspecting victims with water.

Lighting Up the Lagoon – HHN 29 (2019)

That same year, the Klowns also invaded the park’s premier water show, Halloween Marathon of Mayhem, appearing on giant projection screens over the Universal Studios lagoon.

The Return of the Tent – KIller Klowns HHN 35 (2026)

After a multi-year hiatus in Orlando, the Killer Klowns are officially reclaimed by the streets. Universal’s teaser signals a triumphant return to the outdoor zones where their Orlando legacy first started.

What to Expect With Killer Klowns HHN 35 Version

With the announcement indicating that the Killer Klowns are coming back to “the street,” we are highly likely looking at a brand-new, expanded scare zone for the 35th anniversary event.

If previous years have taught us anything, we can expect the following from Killer Klowns HHN 35:

  • Iconic Characters: Look out for fan favorites like Shorty, Fatso, Jumbo, and Slim wandering the foggy streets with their signature toy-inspired weaponry.
  • Scent-Sational Scares: Universal Orlando Resort has famously used sweet, comforting scents like popcorn and cotton candy to disarm guests before executing the perfect scare. Keep your nose open!
  • Photo Ops: The colorful, wacky aesthetic of the films makes for some of the best scenic design at the event, so keep your camera ready (just watch out for the cotton candy cocoons!).

HHN 35 Orlando

Spooky season is arriving early at Universal Studios Florida. This year marks a monumental milestone for the world’s premier Halloween event. For Halloween Horror Nights 35, running on select nights from August 28 through November 1, 2026, the forces of fear are colliding in a twisted, legendary celebration. If you are planning your trip, here is a complete breakdown of all the official HHN 35 Orlando announcements made so far, in addition to Killer Klowns HHN 35.

The Haunted Houses (8 of 10 Announced)

Universal Orlando has confirmed there will be 10 terrifying haunted houses in total. So far, eight of them have officially been revealed, combining massive pop-culture horror franchises with incredible original concepts:

1. Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control

  • The Lore: Discover the unsettling origins of Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow’s undying rivalry before stepping through a portal into the wickedly twisted “Oddverse”.

2. Hellraiser

  • The Vibe: A franchise debut at HHN.
  • The Lore: Based on the original Hellraiser trilogy, you’ll enter the Lament Configuration puzzle box. Journey through iconic film locations like Frank Cotton’s attic and the Channard Institute, leading to the Labyrinth where Pinhead (voiced by Doug Bradley!) and the Cenobites await.

3. Stranger Things 5

  • The Vibe: The ultimate showdown.
  • The Lore: Based on the final season of the Netflix hit. Join the Hawkins gang for one last adventure as you dodge Demogorgons, survive the Mind Flayer, and attempt to defeat Vecna once and for all.

4. Sinners

  • The Vibe: High-energy vampire bloodbath.
  • The Lore: Inspired by the Warner Bros. movie, you’ll step into “Club Juke”. When red-eyed vampires Remmick, Bert, and Joan crash the party, a terrifying struggle for survival begins.

5. Cybergoria

  • The Vibe: Frozen, dystopian sci-fi horror.
  • The Lore: Awaken thousands of years in the future. In this frozen landscape, advanced machines have a singular, horrifying goal: to preserve your life and make you live forever—even if it kills you.

  • The Vibe: A nostalgic, gory horror variety show.
  • The Lore: Everyone’s favorite maître d’macabre returns to WKNB with a dark, stormy Halloween night scare-athon, showcasing his curated favorites packed with ghouls and absolute gore.

7. MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals

  • The Vibe: Primal post-apocalyptic survival.
  • The Lore: Seek refuge in a defunct zoo in a dystopian wasteland. Unfortunately, the animals have been replaced by savage, warring cannibal factions who have taken their animalistic survival instincts to the extreme.

8. INVASION: Alien Abduction

  • The Vibe: Classic extraterrestrial terror.
  • The Lore: Find yourself in the middle of a live alien abduction! You must scramble through the wreckage of a ravaged Southwestern homestead while avoiding probing tentacles and cosmic horrors.

Terror in the Streets: Scare Zones

The scareactors are taking over the streets of Universal Studios Florida with these two newly announced zones:

  • Infernal Carnival of Nightmares: Jack and Dr. Oddfellow proudly present a sinister spectacle decades in the making. Step right up and face what horrors hide in the carnival shadows.
  • Sideshow of Decay: Cindy’s time has come! Utilizing Dr. Oddfellow’s dark sorcery, she has opened a portal in the carnival’s junkyard to resurrect decayed nightmares of the past.

Is Killer Klowns HHN 35 an official scare zone? Is it something else?
