Get ready for a safari of screams in the newest HHN MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals original house as animalistic cannibals take over a local defunct zoo.

Every year, theme park fans buckle up for what is affectionately known as “rumor season.” Months before the first fog machines start warming up, speculation maps, leaked codenames, and construction coordinates take over online forums. Sifting through the noise to guess what creative minds are brewing is half the fun of being a horror fan.

A massive driver of this excitement is the Horror Night Nightmares speculation map reveals, which gives fans a roadmap of the terror to come. Today, one of the most mysterious entries on that map becomes reality. Universal Orlando Resort has officially revealed a brand-new HHN MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals, which takes us to a zoo for terror. However, this time, the terror is distinctly animalistic.

HHN MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals – A New Frontier of Fear Joins the Lineup

The newly announced house, MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals, transports guests to a chaotic, blood-soaked zoo scene. A local attraction has met a grim fate, as an unknown force has taken over, forcing visitors into a frantic fight for survival against aggressive, predatory cannibals

This thrilling original concept expands an already stacked slate for the event. Universal Orlando Resort has been dropping major reveals over the last few weeks. This new experience joins a lineup that already includes the highly anticipated Stranger Things house announcement, alongside the exciting reveals of the Jack and Oddfellow official house announcement, the Sinners announcement, and the recently dropped H.R. Bloodengutz house reveal.

Halloween Horror Nights announced on social media that the HHN MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals house would be part of the 2026 event. The social media post states: “In this haunted house, a defunct zoo is now the deadly domain of warring cannibal factions that have taken their animal instincts to extremes. They’re territorial. They’re hungry. And you’re lunch.”

Interview with Lora Sauls

Lora Sauls, Universal Orlando Resort’s assistant director of entertainment creative development, gave an interview with Cinemablend talking about HHN 35 in Orlando. This interview was obviously done well before the HHN MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals house was announced. Below are some significant quotes from that interview that may shed light on what to expect inside the HHN MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals house in Orlando.

This idea came out of every year we do a brainstorm week where we have scenic designers, character designers, show directors all come to the table with every idea they can think of. No idea is a bad idea. And last April, we had that meeting and one of our newer scenic designers had the idea for this post-apocalyptic zoo that was infested by this tribe of cannibals because animals were instinct. Humans are cannibals, and they took on the tropes and traits of the animals that once lived in this post apocalyptic zoo… And, we just said ‘This is a home run.

HHN MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals Will Be Bloody

It’s a bloody house. It’s [one of] our bloodiest this year, as you may have kind of assumed, since its cannibals. No one is safe because guests are trying to get in this zoo to be safe from every other cannibal that’s out there, but they don’t know that these tribes of cannibals are also in the zoo. These tribes take on these traits – they fashion their out of what they’ve seen on these old zoo signage and things around this old zoo. Because this is so far after animals are extinct that they don’t really know. So they’re just seeing what these animals did and from what is left at the zoo and really taking on those traits. But they are coming at us strongly. They are killing machines, and every person that goes into this house is their prey.

We think this house is going to be one of the most aggressive in the event… I think this one is gonna be that intense, very bloody, very in your face, very intense attacking, kind of scare level. These are tribes of cannibals. They just need to eat. And you their food. It’s a conga line of food that’s coming…
