Our Color Scheme Cake Review: Too Much of a Good Thing?

Color Scheme Cake

At first glance, this cake is an absolute visual explosion. Of course, that is exactly what you’d expect from a booth dedicated to Figment. It is a fruit-flavored, rainbow-hued Bundt-style cake that looks quite dense, and we can confirm: it is quite dense.

While the colors are vibrant, we found that the individual fruit flavors in the cake layers tended to meld together. You do get a hit of orange flavor from the icing, but the star of the show is undoubtedly the topping. We always enjoy the use of freeze-dried candy at this event each year, and the SKITTLES POP’d (both Original and Sour) add a much-needed crunch and a punch of tartness to the heavy cake.

However, even for us, this was not our favorite. There is simply way too much going on between the dense fruit cake and the intense candy. Ironically, because the cake itself is so heavy, we actually found ourselves wanting more of the freeze-dried Skittles to help cut through the texture.

Final Thoughts: Color Scheme vs. Figment Fantasy

Color Scheme Cake

When compared to the other big hitter at this location, the Figment Fantasy Cake, the Color Scheme Cake falls a bit short. While the Color Scheme Cake has a better consistency for those who like a hearty dessert, it doesn’t quite reach the level of the Figment Fantasy Cake.

If you’re a die-hard fan of freeze-dried candy or you need to check this off for your Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine, it’s worth the $5.29. Still, if you only have room for one cake at The Odyssey, go for the one with the Figment wings!

2026 Epcot International Festival of the Arts

The Epcot Festival of the Arts is a premier winter event at Walt Disney World, running through February 23, 2026. This celebration transforms the park into a vibrant canvas, honoring three distinct disciplines: visual, performing, and culinary arts.

Visitors can immerse themselves in the visual arts by browsing galleries, meeting world-renowned artists, or participating in the massive paint-by-number mural. For those who love the stage, the performing arts shine during the Disney on Broadway Concert Series, where legendary stars perform hits from iconic musicals at the America Gardens Theatre.

The culinary arts are equally impressive, featuring over 20 Food Studios that serve artfully plated dishes almost too beautiful to eat. Guests can join the “Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine,” a food stroll that rewards participants with a technicolor treat. Whether you are hunting for hidden Figments in a scavenger hunt or learning to draw at the Animation Academy, this festival offers a sophisticated yet family-friendly atmosphere that makes every guest feel like a masterpiece.
