Art the Clown looks to be clowning around at Halloween Horror Nights 2025. What do we know about the “Terrifier” house after the official announcement? For many years, harder-core Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) fans have wanted to see Art the Clown at the event. However, this sounds like the year.

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Florida starts August 29. It runs on select evenings, mostly Wednesdays through Sundays, through November 2, 2025. This marks the 34th year that the event has occurred at Universal Studios Florida.

HHN 2025 Speculation
Horror Night Nightmares Speculation Map 2.0

Rumors about the houses for each year’s Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) begin almost as soon as the previous year’s event ends. The speculation season has been all over the place this year. “Terrifier” has been one of those intellectual properties that people said could never be done due to the gore at Halloween Horror Nights. Those statements may or may not have been true before. In May 2025, Horror Night Nightmares kept the expected “Terrifier” symbol on the speculation map version 2.0. Either way, “Terrifier” will descend for Halloween Horror Nights 2025.

David Howard Thornton

Even David Howard Thornton, who plays Art the Clown in the “Terrifier” movies, enjoyed the early speculation about Terrifier coming to Halloween Horror Nights. He posted back on threads to someone asking if they should audition for HHN back in March. Thornton said, “Do it,” and added a clown symbol, implying that even he knows about the rumor of “Terrifier” coming to Halloween Horror Nights 2025. In addition to that social media post, Thornton previously expressed wanting his character to be a part of Halloween Horror Nights.

“Terrifier”

The “Terrifier” movie franchise functions as slasher-style horror.  This franchise also has comic books, novels, and video games. The “Terrifier” franchise mainly focuses on Sienna Shaw, a young woman destined to defeat the enigmatic Art the Clown, a demonic serial killer that inhabits the fictitious Miles County, New York. “The series also follows the Little Pale Girl, a sinister entity accompanying Art, and Victoria Heyes, a disfigured survivor struggling with her mental health who the Little Pale Girl possesses, becoming Art’s accomplice.”

Three films have been made, and one more will be released in the future. Damien Leone, “Terrifier” creator stated that “The script for Terrifier 4 is under way and it is shaping up to be the most epic, horrifying, thrilling, emotional and satisfying conclusion to the Terrifier saga,” he writes on Instagram. “I’ve personally never been so excited to see one of my own scripts translate to the screen like this one.” He also added, “I will finally reveal Art’s origin in this entry.” We know that conversations between Damien Leone and Universal have occurred regarding Halloween Horror Nights.

On one occasion, Leone was asked if he had any hopes of creating a sort of haunted house experience for Art the Clown. His response told a lot for HHN fans. He said, “Oh, I would love it, and that’s a dream. I would love to have a house in Halloween Horror Nights. There’s already been talks of it over the years, so hopefully that becomes a reality because, like you said, there’s just so many cool environments, and now we’re adding all these cool characters besides Art the Clown, these other creepy characters that you could really put in there, it could be a really cool experience.”

Speculation About “Terrifier” Coming to Halloween Horror Nights

The rumor of “Terrifier” coming to Halloween Horror Nights has been consistent since the beginning of the year. Since at least early March, rumors have floated that Universal Orlando Resort had already recorded the commercial for the “Terrifier” house.

On May 28, the Halloween Horror Nights social media accounts for both Orlando and Hollywood posted a video of a television screen displaying only static. Did this mean a “Terrifier” house announcement would be soon?

Then on Thursday, May 29, John Murdy, guru of Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood, posted that he might be out of town when a big announcement happens. This left HHN fans wondering about a house announcement since five similar intellectual property houses are rumored to be in Orlando and Hollywood. “Terrifier” stands as one of them. However, horror fans only got additional information about Universal Horror Unleashed. HHN fans waiting for a house announcement found themselves disappointed again.

In fairness, a probably botched HHN announcement did happen a few days later with Halloween Horror Nights most likely being forced to say something about “Five Nights at Freddy’s” coming to the event in Hollywood and Orlando.

Several other HHN houses have been announced, including “Fallout,” Jason Universe, El Artista- A Spanish Haunting, and Hatchet and Chains: Demon Bounty Hunter. Nevertheless, we have the official “Terrifier” announcement.

“Terrifier” House Announced for Halloween Horror Nights 2025

Well, we finally received the official announcement about “Terrifier”. Here is what Universal said about the upcoming HHN house:

Welcome to the Funhouse. The twisted world of Art the Clown comes to life in this year’s all-new “Terrifier” haunted house inspired by the slasher film franchise that has consistently terrorized filmgoers since 2008.The torment kicks off at Universal Orlando Resort on Friday, August 29 and at Universal Studios Hollywood on Thursday, September 4.

Spewing from creator, writer, director Damien Leone and producer Phil Falcone along with Dark Age Cinema Productions, Terrifier introduced a new slasher film series to the cinematic world, featuring Art the Clown, a supernatural entity who terrorizes the fictional town of Miles County, New York, on Halloween and tortures victims in creatively cruel and sickeningly sinister ways. The Terrifier film franchise has evolved to become three chilling and gory movies with a fourth film in development and a Halloween Horror Nights haunted house on the way.

During Halloween Horror Nights, guests will experience an unfathomable level of gore as they try to escape becoming Art the Clown’s next victim. “Terrifier” is a grisly haunted house oozing with a new sense of terror that takes guests into Art the Clown’s gruesome Funhouse, which first appeared in Terrifier 2. Guests will be overwhelmed by the sights, sounds, smells and dread of Art’s grotesque kills, gleefully displayed for all to see.

As fans make their way through the claustrophobic corridors, they will encounter familiar faces, including Vicky and the Little Pale Girl, and witness iconic kills from the franchise. Chaos reigns at the Clown Café, terror festers in a revolting bathroom and holiday cheer turns deadly in a Christmas nightmare. Guests must escape Art’s twisted world—or become his next gruesome display.

What Type of House Should HHN Fans Expect?

The “Terrifier” movies involve immense gore. Will fans of that horror style see that at Halloween Horror Nights 2025? We doubt it. With the event suggesting 13 as the youngest age to attend, that style of intense gore looks unlikely. Universal theme parks target a broad audience,, and the pushback for such an R-rated Halloween Horror Nights would not be worth it for the company as they launch a brand-new theme park in Orlando, Universal Epic Universe.

However, based on Art the Clown’s character, HHN fans should expect lots of mime-style movements from the scare actors within this house. That would match up well with the Art the Clown character in the “Terrifier” movies.

Guests should expect a disturbing Halloween Horror Nights house with plenty of Art the Clown. Still, they should not expect the intense gore and R-rated scenes found in the movies. Nonetheless, fans of Art the Clown shoud be satisifed by this house.
