Review: Fourth of July Treats at Regal Eagle Smokehouse in Epcot

We review the Sam Eagle shortcake and The 1776 drink at Epcot’s Regal Eagle Smokehouse to see if these Fourth of July Treats are worth it.

When it comes to celebrating America, there is no better host in Walt Disney World than Sam Eagle. The resident Muppet patriot practically commands the American Adventure pavilion at Epcot, making the pavilion’s barbecue headquarters the logical place to look for holiday snacks.
As part of the Disney Celebrates America Foodie Guide 2026, a pair of limited-time holiday additions have landed at the quick-service location. We stopped by to try both Fourth of July Treats to see how they handle the summer heat and whether they are worth your theme park budget.
Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Strategy & Logistics

Before diving into the flavors, a quick tip on timing: Regal Eagle Smokehouse operates with an odd daily opening time of 11:45 a.m. Since this location sits right in the middle of the World Showcase, it gets incredibly busy almost immediately after the doors open. We highly recommend utilizing the Mobile Order feature in the My Disney Experience app early in the day to secure a convenient pickup window and bypass the heavy lunchtime crowds.
Fourth of July Treats: The 1776 Drink — $6.49

The first item up is a colorful, non-alcoholic beverage named after the nation’s founding year. It features a bright mix of blue raspberry slushy and Sprite, finished with a layer of strawberry fruit juice-filled pearls resting at the bottom of the cup.
| Attribute | Review Details |
| Price | $6.49 |
| Flavor Profile | Sweet, fizzy, and fruit-forward |
| Standout Feature | Strawberry popping pearls |
| Overall Value | High, compared to standard fountain drinks |

The popping pearls add an enjoyable, interactive texture to the beverage, though the overall flavor profile is fairly straightforward. It didn’t quite reach the unique flavor depth of the specialty beverages we tried during our time checking out the Legoland Florida World Cup Experience. However, it is still a very solid, refreshing choice for a warm afternoon. Considering that a basic soft drink in the parks costs only a little bit less, paying a tiny bit more for a fun, themed holiday drink represents great value for your park day.
Fourth of July Treats: Sam Eagle Star-Spangled Shortcake — $6.29

Next, we moved on to the dessert menu at Regal Eagle Smokehouse. This item consists of vanilla cake layered with fresh strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, whipped cream, star-shaped sprinkles, and a decorative chocolate coin stamped with Sam Eagle’s likeness.
While the ingredients sound refreshing, the presentation ran into immediate trouble. This dessert struggles significantly under the intense Florida humidity, quickly losing its shape and failing to live up to the pristine look seen in Disney’s promotional photos.

On the positive side, Walt Disney World does not skimp on the fruit. The shortcake provides plenty of berries for guests to enjoy in every single bite. In fairness, the texture and quality of the berries closely resemble the previously frozen variety you would typically find at a local grocery store rather than fresh-picked produce. However, at a $6.29 price point, that matches exactly what the menu description indicates. The overall flavors are good, the fruit portions are decent, and it delivers the exact type of light refreshment guests crave during a hot summer day in Orlando.
Walt Disney World Fourth of July Treats

If you are visiting Epcot during the holiday week, most guests will thoroughly enjoy these items as a festive addition to lunch. They provide a fun, approachable way to participate in the seasonal celebration without breaking the bank at Regal Eagle Smokehouse.
