Master the menu at Lego Ninjago Weekends with our review of the Matcha Arts Apple Fries and Balanced Bao Buns. Eat like a ninja before they’re gone.

If you’re heading to Legoland Florida for Lego Ninjago Weekends, you’ll need to move faster than a Spinjitzu master to catch these seasonal treats. This year is particularly special as it marks the 15th Anniversary of Lego Ninjago, and the park has gone “full ninja” to celebrate. We’ve spent the day “building” up an appetite and went undercover to see if the limited-time menu items are truly “The Special” or if they’re just another brick in the wall.

Lego Ninjago Weekends (running select dates from January 17th to February 15th, 2026) isn’t just about the food; it’s a full-scale training ground for aspiring elemental masters. Upon entering the park, guests are invited to follow the Path of the Dragon. This interactive journey lets you choose an elemental power to master and collect stickers at various stations.
The energy at the park is higher than a skyscraper in Ninjago City. Between the Whip Around Dance Party and Lloyd’s Elemental Challenge, a high-stakes stage show featuring stunts and special effects, there’s never a dull moment. You can even help build a massive 15th Anniversary Mosaic out of thousands of Lego bricks or go on Master Wu’s Expedition scavenger hunt.
Still, that of all that training requires fuel, and that’s where the limited-time menu comes in. We recently visited Legoland Florida Resort for Legoland Ninjago Weekends. Of course, we tried some food. During this visit, we were given food vouchers to try the two Legoland Ninjago Weekend food options.
Balanced Bao Bun – $10.29

Location: Kick’n Chicken
True to its name, this dish is all about the art of balance, a core tenet of any ninja’s training. You get two steamed bao buns filled with crispy tempura chicken tossed in a savory Japanese BBQ sauce.

The “inner peace” of this dish comes from the toppings: fresh cucumbers, carrots, and cilantro provide a refreshing crunch that offsets the slight amount of heat of the spicy mayo. The chopped peanuts add that final layer of texture.

We found this to be a solid, well-themed limited-time offering. The bao will not impress most guests. However, for quick-service theme park chicken, this provided decent flavor. The other components work fine. Of note, we saw a few kids eating this instead of standard chicken tenders from Kick’n Chicken.
Matcha Arts Apple Fries – $18.29

Location: Granny’s Apple Fries
You can’t visit Legoland without getting apple fries, but the Matcha Arts version adds a serious “Elemental Power” twist. This takes the classic Granny Smith fries, warm, cinnamon-sugar-coated, and crisp, and pairs them with matcha soft-serve ice cream. Yes, the prices for the specialty sweet treats at this location always shock us. However, you do get a collectible bowl, which elevates the price. We have a love/hate relationship with that aspect of Granny’s Apple Fries.

The green tea flavor is subtle enough for kids but sophisticated enough for a Master Wu. It’s topped with toasted coconut, mini mochi (which are delightfully chewy, like little edible Lego studs), and green sprinkles. It’s a sweet, warm-meets-cold victory. Just watch out! If you eat them too fast, you might get a “brain-freeze” faster than Zane’s ice powers.

Verdict: Sharper than a katana. It’s a creative spin on a park icon that you shouldn’t miss. Even if you aren’t a matcha fan, the combination of the tart apple and the creamy tea-infused soft serve is surprisingly harmonious. In fairness, these are not the best limited-time offerings at Granny’s Apple Fries. Still, these are from Granny’s Apple Fries…you knew they would be good!
Beyond the Bites: Meet the Heroes at Lego Ninjago Weekends

Once you’ve finished your meal, head over to Lego Ninjago World to meet the legends themselves. This year’s lineup includes Lloyd, Master Wu, Kai, Nya, Zane, and newcomers like Sora and Arin. Be sure to check the mobile app for showtimes so you don’t miss the Ninjas Unite Celebration at the end of the day.
Whether you’re there for the 15th-anniversary festivities or to ride the Dragon Coaster, the Lego Ninjago Weekends snacks are the “glue” that holds the whole experience together. Just remember, like a Lego set with missing pieces, this event won’t last forever. For more information about Lego Ninjago Weekends, please visit the Legoland Florida website.
At Main Street Magic, we publish theme park dining reviews every weekday at noon Eastern Time. Sometimes we publish bonus theme park dining reviews such as this one!
