Christmas Town 2025 – Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

If you’re wandering through Christmas Town 2025 at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and find yourself near the Holiday Hearth food and beverage cabin, you may be tempted by the comforting promise of Smoked Chicken & Dumplings. After all, nothing says “holiday cheer” quite like a warm bowl of something that claims to be both smoked and fluffy.

Smoked Chicken & Dumplings: Menu Description vs. Reality

Smoked Chicken & Dumplings

According to the official online menu, the Smoked Chicken & Dumplings at Christmas Town reads:

Shredded smoked chicken simmered in a creamy broth with soft, fluffy pastry dumplings.

Of note, the in-person printed menu description adds “rich” to refer to the broth. Based on that, Now, let’s talk about what actually shows up in the bowl.

Smoked Chicken & Dumplings

First, the “broth.” Calling it a broth is generous. This is less simmered soup and more moist situation. Rich? Maybe emotionally. Liquid-forward? Not really. The chicken is present and properly shredded, but the dumplings are… up for debate. Instead of soft, fluffy pastry pillows, we found something closer to tiny biscuit nuggets—think chicken and biscuits, but the biscuits forgot to grow up.

Flavor-wise, peas occasionally take over like they’re auditioning for the starring role. In some bites, it’s less “chicken and dumplings” and more “peas featuring chicken.”

Portion size is also on the smaller side, even by festival standards. That said, it does qualify as a festival item—mostly because most guests aren’t going home to smoke chicken and argue about dumpling definitions in their own kitchens.

A Note on Availability

During our visit, the Holiday Hearth booth did not have the Slow Roasted Prime Rib available when the cabin opened, leaving Smoked Chicken & Dumplings as one

Surprisingly? No. It’s just not what it says it is, except for the pastry part, which technically exists. It’s warm, filling enough for a snack, and perfectly acceptable on a chilly Florida “winter” night. Just don’t come in expecting grandma’s dumplings.

What Is Christmas Town at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay?

Busch Gardens Christmas Town

Christmas Town is Busch Gardens Tampa Bay’s signature holiday event, transforming the park into a full-scale seasonal celebration running through January 5. The event blends traditional Christmas charm with Busch Gardens’ trademark theme park spectacle, meaning you get millions of twinkling lights and roller coasters decorated like Santa personally approved them.

At its core, Christmas Town is about atmosphere. The park is divided into themed holiday villages inspired by global Christmas traditions, each featuring unique décor, entertainment, and seasonal food offerings. Guests can expect towering Christmas trees, immersive light displays, festive music, and roaming performers who may or may not be judging your ugly sweater.

Entertainment

Entertainment is a major draw, with holiday-themed shows, visits from Santa, and seasonal overlays that make familiar areas feel brand new. Food plays an equally important role, with festival-style food cabins like Holiday Hearth offering limited-time dishes designed to feel comforting, indulgent, and “holiday appropriate,” even if Florida’s weather says otherwise.

Christmas Town Food Lanyard

Christmas Town is included with park admission, making it one of the more accessible large-scale holiday events in Central Florida. Whether you’re there for the lights, the rides, or to debate the definition of a dumpling, it’s designed to be a full evening experience that feels festive without requiring a separate ticket.

Bottom line: Smoked Chicken & Dumplings won’t redefine the genre, but it’s a warm, reasonably enjoyable stop while soaking in the sights of Christmas Town—just don’t expect the dumplings to live up to their résumé.
