Taste the holiday magic! Our review of the Slow-Roasted Prime Rib at Christmas Town Busch Gardens highlights flavor, portion, and festive fun.

Busch Gardens Christmas Town

If there’s a line at Christmas Town, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, longer than Santa’s naughty list, it’s at The Holiday Hearth Cabin (Cabin #7) for the Slow-Roasted Prime Rib. Opening weekend had us dodging reindeer and hot cocoa spills just to see what the fuss was about—and trust us, it was worth it. With so many Christmas Town food options, we needed to do some research.

This herb-roasted prime rib comes with red bliss potato purée, au jus, and horseradish cream sauce. At $10 a la carte, it’s priced like a snack, but if you go full Grinch-mode with a sampler lanyard—five samples for $45 or ten for $65—the cost per bite drops faster than a snowflake in Florida. Annual passholders ordering the ten-sample lanyard even get two extra samples.

Now, let’s talk logistics. When we first approached The Holiday Hearth food and beverage cabin, the line looked like a conga of hungry elves. Was it the prime rib’s popularity or a production bottleneck? Who can say? We, however, stumbled upon a short queue later and snagged our portions without having to wrestle any sugar-crazed toddlers.

Slow-Roasted Prime Rib

Portion-wise, the beef was on the smaller side—think “sample-size prime rib,” not “carnivore’s feast.” Still, the meat was tender and flavorful, placed nicely atop the potato purée. In fairness, for a theme park festival, it was a reasonable portion size.

The potatoes themselves were solid, though nothing to write a Christmas card about. The au jus did its job, but could have used a splash more liquid enthusiasm, and the horseradish cream? Opinions were split, but our group agreed it tied the whole dish together like a perfectly wrapped present.

At the end of the day, the Slow-Roasted Prime Rib delivers a tasty, festive bite. Sure, it won’t replace your holiday dinner table at home, but it’s a tasty, well-seasoned reminder that Christmas Town isn’t just about lights. It’s also lines, bites, and au jus-fueled joy.
