Recently, we visited Dragon Fire Grill at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. This visit primarily focused on trying some of the new menu items, and based on that intent, we achieved a relatively successful outcome.

What Is Dragon Fire Grill at Busch Gardens?

Dragon Fire Grill

The Dragon Fire Grill & Pub, located in the Pantopia area of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, serves as a popular dining destination known for its diverse food court menu and inviting indoor ambiance. Guests can choose from a variety of cuisine options, including American classics like burgers and chicken platters, as well as international fare such as stir-fry and street tacos.

Curiously, the official Busch Gardens Tampa Bay website provides limited information about the restaurant’s current offerings. Beyond the food, the Dragon Fire Grill also doubles as an entertainment venue, hosting live musical revue shows that enhance the dining experience.

The “Pub” section features a full-service bar with a wide selection of craft beers, mocktails, and cocktails for guests 21 and older. While this quick-service dining spot has faced some operational challenges in 2025, it remains a convenient choice for guests, especially since it participates in the All-Day Dining Plan at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.

Dragon Fire Grill Review: All-Day Dining Plan Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

Dragon Fire Grill Review

Enjoy a full day of eating at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay with the All-Day Dining Deal. For a single price (typically around $60 for adults, with a lower rate for children), the plan includes one entrée, one side or dessert, and one fountain soft drink at participating restaurants, which can be redeemed as often as once every 90 minutes. There are frequent sales in which guests can pay less.

This option is an excellent value if you plan to eat multiple full meals and snacks in the park. Popular locations accepting the deal often include Zagora Café, Dragon Fire Grill, Oasis Pizza, Zambia Smokehouse, and even Chick-fil-A. Park admission is required and can be purchased separately. Please note that sharing alcoholic beverages is typically excluded, and the plan is not valid during separately ticketed events, such as Howl-O-Scream.

For this Dragon Fire Grill Review, we tried the Build Your Own Pasta Bowl, priced at $18.79 before discounts or dining plans. The dish begins with penne pasta as its base, accompanied by a choice of marinara or Alfredo sauce, and a protein option—either meatballs or blackened chicken. We opted for the meatballs and marinara sauce combination, which may not have been the best choice. Since we were using the All-Day Dining option, we also grabbed a side of cheese sticks.

Cheese Sticks: A Familiar Quick-Service Snack

Dragon Fire Grill Review

The cheese sticks are usually below average at Oasis Pizza, where you get four, but at Dragon Fire Grill, we received five along with a side of marinara sauce. Oddly, though the cheese sticks were listed on the Pizza and Pasta station menu board, we had to pick them up at the American Station in the food court setup. Even stranger, cheese sticks weren’t listed on that menu.

Despite the confusion, the cheese sticks were decent. They had a good cheese pull. This stood as a small victory. Also, the marinara sauce paired nicely with their heavy batter. Interestingly, the marinara sauce from the American station tasted noticeably better than the one used on our pasta.

Build Your Own Pasta Bowl Review

Dragon Fire Grill Review

The pasta dish itself featured penne noodles that were cooked to typical quick-service quality—nothing to complain about, but nothing memorable. The entrée’s price of $18.79 feels a bit steep, even for Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.

Unfortunately, the marinara sauce held this dish back. It lacked robust flavor, resulting in an overall taste that was rather flat. The meatballs—just two—were fine but uninspired. They’d benefit from a more flavorful sauce.

We plan to try this entrée again with blackened chicken and alfredo sauce to compare portion size and flavor. On the bright side, the dish had an inviting aroma, and dunking the pasta or meatballs into the extra marinara from the American Station improved the flavor significantly.

Overall, our Dragon Fire Grill Review found both highs and lows. The variety and air-conditioned seating make this an easy dining stop during your Busch Gardens visit. However, the pasta offerings need a more flavorful sauce and larger portions to stand out among the park’s dining options.

If you’re using the All-Day Dining Plan, Dragon Fire Grill remains a solid, convenient stop, especially if you choose your sauces and sides wisely. For more theme park dining reviews, visit MSM News every weekday at noon Eastern Time. As always, eat like you mean it!
