Of course, no celebration at Universal Orlando Resort is complete without a visit to the icons of fried dough, which is why we sprinted straight to CityWalk to put the brand-new GOOOLLL! Doughnut to the test. This Voodoo Doughnut creation will be around through July 19.

Universal’s official blog captured the spirit of the treat, stating: “Arguably the most recognizable aspect of soccer fandom is when game commentators yell, “GOOOAALLLL!” Which, Telemundo’s Andres Cantor knows all too well! Whether you’re a longtime fan or a mere passerby in the world of soccer, you’ve probably heard this cry of passion and excitement at least once or twice in your life — and you’ll hear it again at Voodoo Doughnut! Take a bite of GOOOAALLLL!, a fluffy raised shell doughnut featuring a spicy mocha velvet top and sweet vanilla icing. I can’t picture a more fitting dessert to indulge in during the FIFA World Cup!”
.
We picked up this limited-time pastry for $5.25 to see whether it delivers a true striker’s finish or gets caught offside. Here is our full play-by-play World Cup Voodoo Doughnut review.
The World Cup Voodoo Doughnut Scouting Report: Presentation & Decor

Right out of the gate, this pastry earns high marks for its visual appeal. The official menu describes it as “a yeast shell filled with a spicy mocha velvet top, dipped in vanilla icing then decorated with gold star sprinkles and a fun green, blue and red velvet top finished with a chocolate soccer ball.”
The decor is absolutely great for the World Cup celebration. Sitting on top of the colorful velvet layers is a large white chocolate soccer ball piece. As far as the taste goes, it is a perfectly good piece of white chocolate. Still, at the end of the day, it is just standard white chocolate. It acts more like a defensive wall protecting the main event underneath.
The Play-by-Play: Flavor Profile

When you advance the ball and take your first bite, the star of the show makes its presence known. The description promises a “spicy mocha velvet top,” but we found that the mocha filling tastes far more like a robust, rich coffee.
The heat element is executed with perfect tactical precision. It does not hit you upfront; instead, you get the spicy kick right at the end of your bite. It provides a delightful warmth that lingers just long enough without ever overpowering the rich coffee notes. Mocha enthusiasts and sweet-tooth strikers alike will find this combination to be an absolute winner.
Post-Match Analysis of the World Cup Voodoo Doughnut: The Florida Heat Factor

While the flavors scored a clean goal, we do have to issue a quick warning about the physical playing conditions. The brutal Florida heat quickly turned this pastry into a high-stakes endurance match. We attempted to manage the situation using a plastic knife and fork, but by the final whistle, the World Cup Voodoo Doughnut had transformed into an incredibly gooey, messy situation.
The vibrant green, blue, and red velvet dyes are heavy, and some of the dye actually seeped straight through the protective wax paper and onto our table. Luckily, it was very easy to wipe right up, but it definitely surprised us during our World Cup Voodoo Doughnut review. If you are eating this outdoors in the midday sun, you will need to play fast offense before the icing melts away completely.
The Final Score

Despite the messy dynamic in the second half, this is a fantastic seasonal offering. Mocha fans and white chocolate supporters should absolutely sprint to score a goal with this doughnut before it leaves the tournament roster. Just make sure the official scorer gives us the assist on your order.
If you are a true soccer fan looking to expand your tournament bracket across the Sunshine State, the delicious action does not stop at Universal Orlando Resort.
