Universal Pokémon experience

Whether you’re a Pokémon Master or a casual fan, the latest news from Universal Studios Japan is set to electrify the theme park world. Based on the recent press release from Universal and The Pokémon Company, we have all the details on the “hyper-realistic” future of Pokémon in the parks.

Universal Pokémon Experience is Going Around the World

It’s official: the partnership between Universal Destinations & Experiences and The Pokémon Company is entering a bold new phase. While we’ve already seen Pikachu and friends join the “NO LIMIT! Parade” and seasonal Halloween events in Osaka, a massive new project is on the horizon that will eventually reach fans across the globe.

According to the announcement, Universal Studios Japan will serve as the launchpad for an “unprecedentedly interactive” Pokémon experience. This new project aims to stimulate all five senses, bringing the vibrant world of Pokémon to life using world-class technology and creative storytelling.

Mark Woodbury, chairman and CEO of Universal Destinations & Experiences, expressed his excitement, stating: “Collaborating with imaginative and inventive storytellers fuels our ability to create and deliver mind-blowing attractions and experiences that shatter guest expectations. The Pokémon Company is one of the most beloved interactive franchises in the world, and through our ongoing partnership, we will continue bringing its vibrant world to life in new and innovative ways for years to come.”

The most exciting takeaway for international fans? This isn’t staying exclusive to Japan. The press release confirmed that after its debut in Osaka, these unique Pokémon experiences will be rolled out across Universal’s global footprint, which likely includes Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood.

Tsunekazu Ishihara

Tsunekazu Ishihara, president and CEO of The Pokémon Company, noted that this milestone coincides with Pokémon’s 30th anniversary. “Our mission is to enrich both the real and virtual worlds through the existence of Pokémon,” Ishihara said. “With this project, too, we hope to create new entertainment that is unique to theme parks, as a rich experience in the real world, and continue to provide surprises to people all over the world.”

While specific details on the ride type or opening dates remain under wraps, the “NO LIMIT!” spirit is in full effect. Stay tuned as we await more details about the Universal Pokémon experience. This is sure to be a game-changing addition to the Universal parks.
