Salt & Straw Is Bringing Halloween to Its Ice Cream Shops This Friday
Salt & Straw Halloween Flavors appear to be coming on September 25. We decode the spooky emoji teaser and make our predictions. Salt & Straw is getting ready to trade its fall apple flavors for something a little more mysterious. The ice cream company has teased its next collection on social media, asking fans to decode five new flavors using nothing but emojis.
According to the teaser, the new flavors are set to arrive in Salt & Straw scoop shops beginning Friday, September 25, 2026. The company has not yet officially revealed the flavor names or descriptions, so we are doing a little Halloween detective work based on the emojis and Salt & Straw’s history of spooky seasonal flavors.
The timing also makes sense. Salt & Straw’s current Apple Series is scheduled through September 24, meaning September 25 marks the apparent transition to the next limited-time collection. Salt & Straw says its limited edition flavors typically rotate about every four or five weeks. Here is what we think the five emoji combinations are trying to tell us.
Salt & Straw Halloween Flavors: The Great Candycopia

The first row features a trophy, candy, chocolate and a lollipop.
🏆 + 🍬 + 🍫 + 🍭
Our guess is The Great Candycopia.
This flavor has been one of Salt & Straw’s Halloween staples in recent years. The 2025 version featured a salted butterscotch ice cream packed with chocolate candies inspired by classic trick or treat favorites.
The trophy could represent “Great,” while the assortment of candy and chocolate makes the “Candycopia” portion of the name fairly easy to spot. If this emoji clue is indeed pointing toward The Great Candycopia, it would give fans another chance to dig into one of Salt & Straw’s most recognizable Halloween creations.
Jack O’Lantern Pumpkin Bread
The second combination may be the easiest of the five.

Our guess is Jack O’Lantern Pumpkin Bread. Pumpkin plus bread is a pretty direct clue, while the remaining emojis appear to reinforce the dessert and seasonal elements.
Salt & Straw offered Jack O’Lantern Pumpkin Bread as part of its 2025 Halloween collection. That version featured pumpkin spiced ice cream, pieces of pumpkin bread and cream cheese frosting. The flavor has also appeared on previous Salt & Straw Halloween menus, making its return in 2026 a believable possibility.
Creepy Crawly Critters
The third row might be the most obvious clue of the entire teaser.
👻 + 🦗 + 🪱 + 🍵
We think this one is Creepy Crawly Critters. The ghost gives us “creepy,” while the insect and worm point directly toward “crawly critters.” The cup of green tea is another significant clue because the flavor has previously used matcha ice cream.
Salt & Straw’s 2025 version featured sweet green matcha ice cream with edible candy-coated critters. Earlier versions of the flavor have included chocolate-covered crickets and mealworms. In other words, if you were hoping Salt & Straw would once again let you put actual creepy crawlies in your ice cream, this emoji combination seems to be pointing in that direction.
A Witchy Mystery (At least to us) With This Part of the Salt & Straw Halloween Flavors
The fourth row is where things get considerably harder.
🧙 + 🔮 + 🍇 + 🥤
We are not as confident about this one. The witch and crystal ball clearly suggest something magical or mysterious The grapes and drink could be clues to the actual flavor ingredients. At this point, we would rather leave this one as a mystery than force an answer that the emojis do not definitively support.
There is also some precedent for Salt & Straw using unusual names and combinations for its Halloween menu. The company’s previous Halloween collections have included flavors such as Double Bubble Toil & Trouble, Essence of Ghost and other intentionally unusual creations.
Could this be a returning flavor with a new presentation? Could it be an entirely new creation? This is the one we will be watching closely when Salt & Straw makes its official announcement.
Our best guess is Double Bubble Toil & Trouble. That appeared last year. Unlike traditional bubble gum ice cream which relies on artificial syrups, Salt & Straw mimics the nostalgic, sweet essence of chewing gum using a unique blend of real fruits and spices. The flavor profile features:
- An otherworldly, luminous blue color.
- A base combination of banana, pineapple, pear, and coconut milk.
- Subtle notes of cinnamon and vanilla to round out the chewy essence.
- The flavor is mindfully crafted to accommodate dietary restrictions. It is entirely vegan (dairy-free) and gluten-free.
Dracula’s Blood Pudding
The final row may be the most intriguing.

Our best guess is Dracula’s Blood Pudding.
Chocolate, a tombstone, and blood certainly make the Dracula connection easy to see. The flavor isn’t new to Salt & Straw, either. Dracula’s Blood Pudding previously appeared as one of the company’s Halloween flavors, inspired by the Italian dessert sanguinaccio dolce. The earlier version combined chocolate and warm spices with blood pudding.
That makes this another particularly interesting possibility for the 2026 Halloween collection. The emojis certainly seem to be trying to get fans thinking about something dark, chocolatey and bloody.
Salt & Straw Halloween Flavors Could Be Revealed Soon
For now, these are our guesses based on Salt & Straw’s emoji teaser, not an official flavor announcement. What we do know is that Salt & Straw has teased five new flavors, and the new collection is scheduled to begin Friday, September 25. The company’s current Apple Series runs through September 24, setting up a quick transition from apples to Halloween.
The teaser also makes it clear that Salt & Straw is once again leaning into the strange, unusual side of Halloween. That would be consistent with the company’s previous seasonal menus, which have included everything from candy stuffed ice cream to matcha with edible insects and even blood pudding. So, until Salt & Straw officially reveals the lineup, our current predictions are:
- The Great Candycopia
- Jack O’Lantern Pumpkin Bread
- Creepy Crawly Critters
- Double Bubble Toil & Trouble (Maybe?)
