We visited Universal Studios Florida to check on the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit demolition process. This photo update from today offers a glimpse. This photo update from today offers a glimpse of the process.

Universal Orlando Resort wasted no time tearing down the former Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster. Even before the attraction closed forever last month, construction walls went up outside and inside Universal Studios Florida. While we still have nothing official from Universal Orlando Resort about the attraction replacing it, the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit demolition is happening at a fast n’ furious pace. Whereas others think that the demolition pace for this former coaster might be something out of “Ghostbusters” or “Back to the Future” movie.

For example, during our visit today, we watched cranes tear down a portion of the former queue area for Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit. The former signature “non-inverting” loop has become a casualty of the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit demolition process.

Still, the “tophat” element remains standing for all to see at the theme park. The coaster track that took Universal Studios Florida guests straight up look out of place now withe roller coaster not running.

The Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit demolition process has influenced traffic in the Universal CityWalk Orlando area. Guests needed to walk between construction walls to navigate from Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure. This situation is expected to last for a while during the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit demolition. One thing is for sure – cranes are going to be operating at Universal Studios Florida for some time!
