Is the NSFD Voodoo Doughnut Review worth the hype? We taste the peanut butter and cinnamon cereal UOAP exclusive at Universal Orlando to see if it’s a must-buy.

January is officially here, and with it comes one of our favorite times of the year: Universal Orlando Passholder Bonus Benefits. We headed straight to Universal CityWalk Orlando to grab the most talked-about perk of the month—the NSFD (Not Safe For Dogs) doughnut. After showing our UOAP credentials and snagging that iconic pink box, we finally dug in. Here is our official NSFD Voodoo Doughnut Review.

Bit of Drama

For full disclosure, this was our third time trying to order the Not Safe For Dogs Doughnut from the Voodoo Doughnut location at Universal CityWalk Orlando. On the other occassions, the doughnut was not available, even after significant promotion by Universal Orlando Resort.
Additionally, rumors indicate that corporate Voodoo Doughnut dislikes the name of the passholder-exclusive NSFD Doughnut. We find that odd based on all the wacky doughnuts this company sells that have included:
- Not safe for theme park audience doughnuts
- The Pepto Bismol Doughnut- It was eve sprinkles with Tums.
- Flame del Fuego Doughnut – described as the “hottest” raised-yeast doughnut on Earth, it featured ghost pepper frosting and Carolina Reaper filling.

Still, when you go to order the Not Safe For Dogs Doughnut, ask for it by its full name. Remember, it’s only available through the end of the month.
NSFD Voodoo Doughnut Review: Sweet, Salty, and Crunchy

The NSFD is a yeast doughnut shell topped with a “peanut butter velvet” frosting, dipped in chocolate, and finished with a generous coating of Chex cereal. Yes, Chex cereal! We expected something like a cinnamon-flavor cereal. However, this doughnut features Chex cereal. Also, the cereal fell off quickly with out doughnut.

The Texture: The “peanut butter velvet” lives up to its name. It’s much creamier than a standard glaze, providing a rich, buttery base that keeps the doughnut from feeling too dry.
- The Flavor: If you’re a fan of peanut butter cups, you’ll love this. The chocolate frosting is classic Voodoo, sweet and smooth, but the real star is the cereal topping. Well, at least it should be! However, as often happens at Voodoo Doughnut, the moisture gets taken away from the cereal topping, leaving a stale-like taste. Still, if you get a good bite of the cereal, it will add a salty-sweet crunch that cuts through the richness of the peanut butter. Sadly, this would have been far better with a different style of cereal topping.much better with a different
- The “NSFD” Factor: It’s a heavy doughnut. Between the yeast base and the dense toppings, this is definitely one you might want to share (or pair with a strong coffee).
Is It Worth the UOAP Hype?

In short: Maybe? While Voodoo often leans into “shock value” flavors, the NSFD feels like a well-balanced treat. It isn’t just a gimmick for passholders; it’s a genuinely delicious flavor profile that we wish were on the permanent menu with a different cereal topping. For under $5, it’s a perfect mid-day snack while hopping between Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure. However, do not expect the cereal portion to be world-class.
