What is Midsummer Scream?

Every summer, horror fans from around the globe gather in Long Beach, California, for Midsummer Scream, a massive Halloween and haunt convention. It’s a weekend packed with panels, sneak peeks, horror celebrities, and a sprawling show floor filled with spooky merchandise and mini-haunted attractions. For fans of Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights, Midsummer Scream has become a must-watch, as creative directors often take the stage to pull back the curtain on the nightmares coming to life that fall. This year’s event did not disappoint, with HHN Orlando’s Mike Aiello and HHN Hollywood’s John Murdy revealing plenty of gruesome details about the haunted houses coming to both coasts in 2025.

A Quick Look at Halloween Horror Nights Orlando

Every fall, Universal Studios Florida transforms into a scream-filled playground. Halloween Horror Nights Orlando earned a solid reputation for its movie-quality haunted houses, terrifying scare zones, and live entertainment. Fans flock to experience original concepts alongside intellectual properties brought to life with an unmatched level of detail and theatricality. The event starts in Orlando next week. Tickets are available through the official Universal Orlando Resort website.

For 2025, three of the biggest houses, Five Nights at Freddy’s, WWE Presents: The Horrors of The Wyatt Sicks, and Terrifier, are already driving fan buzz. Thanks to Midsummer Scream, we now know a whole lot more about them.

What We Learned at Midsummer Scream

Five Nights at Freddy’s

Halloween Horror Nights Orlando

The FNAF house will be nearly identical on both coasts, with 99% of the experience the same between Orlando and Hollywood. Universal knew this was a property where accuracy was everything, so they partnered with Jim Henson’s Creature Shop to create the animatronic characters. The result should be one of the most faithful IP houses in HHN history.

Universal worked directly with WWE to bring The Wyatt Sicks to life. Orlando’s version begins with a recreation of their infamous RAW debut, while Hollywood’s starts at the compound. Both feature plenty of haunting nods to the late Bray Wyatt, including iconic lantern tributes. The project was highly collaborative, designed to ensure WWE fans feel the authenticity of stepping inside this eerie new storyline.

Terrifier

Halloween Horror Nights Orlando

If one house dominated the panel, it was Terrifier. Mike Aiello teased it as the bloodiest HHN house ever built in Orlando, complete with:

  • Choose Your Path rooms, including a Dry Path and a Blood Path—yes, guests will get as wet as sitting front row on Jurassic Park River Adventure.
  • The infamous Clown Café, which not only appears in the house but can also be visited as an HHN food location.
  • A gruesome bathroom scene that comes complete with unforgettable smells.
  • A twisted Christmas scene, offering a festive encounter with Art the Clown.
  • Cameos from Sienna Shaw and the Little Pale Girl, appearing on both coasts.
  • The legendary hacksaw kill recreated in gruesome detail.
  • And according to Aiello, the most dead bodies of any HHN Orlando house in history.

To top it off, roving Art the Clown encounters will appear across both Orlando and Hollywood events, adding another layer of unpredictable fear. Even the façade has been teased online, with HHN365 sharing a chilling first look:

Midsummer Scream gave fans exactly what they hoped for—insider details, creative passion, and a heavy dose of hype for this year’s event. From the accuracy of Five Nights at Freddy’s, to the authenticity of WWE Horror of the Wyatt Sicks, to the sheer brutality of Terrifier, Halloween Horror Nights Orlando 2025 is shaping up to be one of the bloodiest, boldest years yet.
