Back in July 2025, Merlin Entertainments announced new space-themed roller coasters coming to Legoland Florida and Legoland California. While attending the media event for Brick-or-Treat at Legoland Florida, we learned more about the upcoming Legoland space coaster and the spaced-themed land associated with it.
Galacticoaster Legoland Space Coaster Announcement
At a media event today at Legoland Florida Resort, the name of the new space-themed indoor roller coaster coming to Legoland Florida was revealed. It is Galacticoaster! Additionally, we found out that more information will be given about this indoor roller coaster at a future media event in November. In addition, more information should be released on Monday about this coaster and its official name.
UPDATE: Monday, September 22, 2025 – Legoland Florida Resort has released additional details about the new Galacticoaster Legoland space coaster set to open in 2026. We learned a bit more about the coaster stats of this attraction. Galacticoaster is housed in a 30,000-square-foot building and towering over 50 feet high, featuring over 400 concrete trucks and 1,500 feet of track in its construction.

“Over three years in the making, this intergalactic experience is the most ambitious and technically advanced ride ever built at any LEGOLAND Resort,” park officials wrote in the press release.
“Galacticoaster marks the first indoor coaster built inside the main park since LEGOLAND Florida opened in 2011. From the very beginning, we aimed to create an immersive experience for our guests from the moment they step inside,” said Blake Boyter, senior project manager at Merlin Magic Making. “From the engineering precision to the LEGO DNA woven throughout, guests will experience more LEGO storytelling, more excitement, and more out-of-this-world fun than ever before.”

- Galacticoaster’s indoor building footprint is equal to 10 basketball courts
- Under construction for 12+ months, with more than 500 crew members from around the world
- Foundation required a single monolithic concrete pour using 400+ trucks over 13 hours
- 48 track sections supported by 120 columns
- Station conveyor belt weighs 18,000 pounds
- Nearly 1,500 feet of track reaching heights of 50 feet
- More than 110,000 hours of on-site work from engineers, designers, and builders to bring this project to life
