Fast & Furious – Supercharged closing

Prepare for the final ride with the Fast & Furious – Supercharged closing permanently next month, paving the path for next year’s brand-new coaster.

Theme park fans, start your engines. Prepare to say a final goodbye to one of the most talked-about attractions (mostly not in a good way) at Universal Studios Florida. Universal Orlando Resort has officially updated the dynamic details on its active attraction roster to reflect a major shift in the San Francisco area of the park. Universal Orlando confirmed the timeline for the Fast & Furious – Supercharged closing, noting:

“as we continue to make way for the new Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift roller coaster opening next year, we are permanently closing Fast & Furious – Supercharged next month and the last day to experience the attraction will be August 16, 2026.”

For years, the attraction has been a lightning rod for criticism within the theme park community. While the queue offered immersive family garage sets and beautifully detailed replica cars from the blockbuster franchise, the actual ride experience, which had guests boarding a “party bus” only to watch screens, frequently left fans feeling underwhelmed.

If you want to experience the simulator one last time, your window is rapidly closing. Use this timeline to coordinate your upcoming visits before the attraction closes forever after August 16, 2026. This marks the absolute final operating day for Fast & Furious – Supercharged. The attraction doors will lock permanently at park close.

Clearing the Track for “Hollywood Drift”

Universal Orlando Trip Report

The permanent closure of Supercharged is directly tied to Universal’s massive new coaster project, Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift. This highly anticipated multi-launch drifting coaster is currently dominating the park’s skyline.

With the Fast & Furious – Supercharged closing next month, Universal Orlando Resort is streamlining its attraction lineup to ensure the franchise is represented by a cutting-edge, high-thrill physical coaster rather than an aging simulator. If you want to experience the party bus, dance with Dominic Toretto’s crew, and face off against Owen Shaw one last time, make sure your travel plans bring you to the park before the gates lock at the close of the day on August 16, 2026.

Once the simulator closes, the queue area will be cleared out. While the physical space of the San Francisco building is completely separate from the Hollywood Drift construction site nearby in the former Rip Ride Rockit plot, the closure allows Universal Orlando Resort to focus its franchise efforts on the upcoming 2027 coaster experience.
