Step inside The Beak and Barrel at Magic Kingdom for pirate-themed dining, hidden treasures, and immersive details for adventurers of all ages.

There’s a brand-new treasure waiting for adventurers at Walt Disney World Resort. Beginning August 29, 2025, guests can officially step into the pirate’s life at The Beak and Barrel, a brand-new Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern in Magic Kingdom
This immersive dining and drinking spot promises a swashbuckling atmosphere, seaworthy snacks, and plenty of pirate lore. Before you chart your course for this new destination, let’s take a tour through the tavern’s unforgettable spaces and hidden stories. Walt Disney World offered some more information about this pirate-themed bar at Magic Kingdom.
The Mess at The Beak and Barrel
The first space you’ll encounter inside The Beak and Barrel is The Mess. Once a Spanish soldiers’ mess hall, according to Disney, the room has since been overtaken by a clever crew of pirates. Long wooden tables invite travelers and buccaneers alike to gather for hearty bites, tall tales, and perhaps a round or two of grog.
Look overhead and you’ll find a ship’s bell, said to be from Captain Redd’s very first ship. Legends differ on whether the bell was given as a friendly gift or seized in rivalry. Keep your eyes peeled for details that bring the pirate story to life: barnacle-crusted Mermaid Windows salvaged from a wrecked ship, a massive anchor transformed into a candlelit chandelier, and The Brig, a dark corner that still carries the bones of its jailhouse past.
The Cursed Bar

Anchored to The Mess is one of the tavern’s most striking features: the skull-shaped Cursed Bar. Pirates and park-goers will be drawn to its glowing eyes and treasure-filled shelves, showcasing rare bottles and curious keepsakes.
At the heart of the bar rests the Enchanted Rum Bottle, a legendary vessel said to ensure the tavern’s supply of grog never runs dry. As long as the bottle remains full, the good cheer and flowing drinks will never falter.
Perched high above is Rummy, a mischievous bird who keeps watch over the bar. Quick with a song, a joke, or a squawk, Rummy brings extra life to the atmosphere.
The Captains’ Quarters at The Beak and Barrel

For those craving a more refined pirate experience, the Captains’ Quarters offer a step into the past. Once the private residence of a Spanish Comandante, this area is decorated with remnants of grandeur—rich drapery, scorched walls, and scarred woodwork left behind by heated battles. A stately fireplace glows at the center, topped with glass bottles holding miniature ships. If you’re lucky (or unlucky), you may catch these tiny vessels springing to life for a fierce battle within the glass.

Four intricately carved Captains’ Booths line the walls, each telling tales of infamous pirates whose legends still echo across the Seven Seas. Tucked nearby, a private game room offers hints of mischief, from scattered playing cards to marks left behind by less-than-honest buccaneers.

The Mapmaker’s Room

For explorers at heart, the Mapmaker’s Room provides a treasure trove of discovery. This chamber overflows with parchment scrolls, inkwells, and charts left behind by a pirate cartographer rumored to be just a bit mad. At its center rests a grand worktable once used to plot voyages and mark hidden riches. Along one wall is a sprawling painted map of the pirating world, dotted with clues and secrets that might just lead to adventure for anyone curious enough to study them.
What Awaits Beyond
The Beak and Barrel is designed to reward explorers who visit often. Every corner is rich with storytelling, every wall filled with details from past escapades. Whether you return once or a dozen times, there’s always a new legend or hidden detail to uncover.
Of course, no tavern would be complete without food and drink. Disney has teased that guests can expect a hearty menu of grog and grub to pair with the immersive atmosphere, though full details will be shared soon.
How to Experience The Beak and Barrel
The Beak and Barrel officially opens to guests on August 29, 2025. Given the buzz and glitches, reservations are highly recommended and can be made through the My Disney Experience app or on DisneyWorld.com. However, those reservations went quickly when they became available.
So, polish your cutlass, don your tricorn hat, and get ready to raise a toast to the newest adventure in Magic Kingdom. The Beak and Barrel is calling all scallywags and sea dogs to drop anchor and join the fun.
