Universal Epic Universe revenue helped Comcast’s theme park division surpass $1 billion in EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization) for the first time as revenue jumped 22% to $2.9 billion, driven by higher attendance and per-capita guest spending across Universal parks.

Comcast’s theme parks division delivered record-breaking financial results in the fourth quarter of 2025, driven in large part by the first full quarter of operations from Universal Epic Universe at Universal Orlando Resort.
Epic Universe Revenue: Key Earnings Highlights

- EBITDA for the theme parks unit jumped 24%, topping $1 billion for the first time — a significant milestone for the parks business.
- Theme parks revenue climbed 22% to approximately $2.9 billion, reflecting strong guest spending and attendance gains.
- Universal attributes much of this growth to increased per capita spending and rising attendance across its parks, with Universal Epic Universe playing a central role.
Epic Universe: A Game-Changer

Universal’s newest major theme park, Universal Epic Universe, has quickly become a core growth driver for the parks division. Launched in 2025, the park’s immersive lands and advanced attractions have helped boost overall visitation and spending, with executives noting that growth has not significantly cannibalized attendance at the legacy Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure parks. Though earlier quarterly reports showed elevated year-over-year revenue and EBITDA increases during Epic’s initial months of operation, the full quarter numbers reported now highlight the park’s accelerating contribution to the bottom line.
“We’re really pleased with the early results from Epic, which are driving higher per-cap spending and attendance across the entirety of Universal Orlando,” Comcast chief financial officer Jason Armstrong said. Comcast president Michael Cavanagh added that Epic’s attendance is not just re-routing guests who would’ve gone to the two existing parks, stating, “One of the nice things is that [we’re seeing] lesser cannibalization of attendance from our two pre-existing parks than we had expected.” (In contrast, Disney World acknowledged it had a cannibalization problem when the resort expanded to four theme parks with Animal Kingdom in 1998.)
Still, Cavanagh also said there’s more work to do at Universal Epic Universe, such as dealing with large crowds. “Our focus now is driving increased ride capacity, Cavanagh said. “It’s a new park and very technologically advanced, so we are working on the labor and the kinks to drive it to full capacity. We’ve been holding back a little bit to make sure the experience is what we want it to be, so we expect it to fully scale up in the month ahead.”
Epic Universe Revenue: Industry Impact & Outlook
The impressive performance in the parks segment comes amid mixed results elsewhere for Comcast, including broadband customer losses and ongoing streaming losses at Peacock, underscoring the growing importance of theme parks to the company’s diversified entertainment portfolio.
Theme park analysts believe that Epic Universe’s long-term success could reshape Florida’s tourism landscape, pressuring competitors to innovate while confirming the financial viability of large-scale new parks built with cutting-edge technology and immersive experiences.
