Five Guys CityWalk Orlando Is Officially Open

The previously announced Five Guys officially opened at Universal CityWalk Orlando on Friday, September 25, taking over the second-floor space long held by the Burger King Whopper Bar. The location is fully staffed, fully stocked, and running like a restaurant that had been open for months, not hours.
Whopper Bar to Five Guys: What Changed
Universal Orlando Resort first announced the swap back in April, describing the new restaurant only as “coming soon” on the upper level of CityWalk, across from Bread Box Handcrafted Sandwiches. That was the same footprint occupied by the world’s first Burger King Whopper Bar, which closed for good back on April 21 after 15 years at CityWalk.
From there, the timeline moved fast. Staff were spotted training on the floor Wednesday evening, September 23, with a sign already up promising late-night hours for Halloween Horror Nights. The team member preview followed the next day, September 24, and the doors opened to the public Friday, September 25.

The menu is standard Five Guys, and so is the pricing. Every burger and dog can be loaded with any topping at no extra charge, and fries come in Five Guys Style or Cajun Style.

Five Guys CityWalk Orlando: Open Until 1 A.M. During Halloween Horror Nights
The most useful detail for park guests has nothing to do with burgers. A sign posted at the restaurant advertises that Five Guys will stay open until 1 a.m. during Halloween Horror Nights, which runs on select nights through November 1 this year as part of its 35th anniversary season. That is a real gap filler. Most CityWalk quick service shuts down well before then, and anyone stumbling out of their tenth haunted house of the night has historically had thin options beyond a late pretzel.
The Second New CityWalk Restaurant This Month
Five Guys is the second new quick-service restaurant to open at CityWalk in September, following Fat One’s Hot Dogs & Italian Ice, Joey Fatone’s hot dog and Italian ice concept that opened September 19 in the old Hot Dog Hall of Fame space⁶. Between the two openings, CityWalk’s upper level has effectively rebuilt its quick-service lineup in the span of about a week.
