Are These Two Blizzard Beach Treats Worth the Price of Admission? Our Talented Food Reporters Thought So!

Looking for the best Blizzard Beach Treats? We might have found them at I.C. Expeditions, which sells a fresh S’mores Churro and a Strawberry Shortcake Dole Whip sundae at Walt Disney World.

We recently spent a few hours at Disney’s Blizzard Beach, and while it was nice to revisit the park, the biggest surprise of the day wasn’t a slide, the lazy river, or even the theming. It was dessert.
Now, don’t get us wrong. Blizzard Beach is a great water park. The snow-covered ski resort theme remains one of Walt Disney World’s most creative ideas, and it’s probably the better water park choice for families with younger kids. However, on this particular visit, we weren’t there to conquer Summit Plummet or spend all day riding slides.
We wanted a relaxing morning floating the lazy river, sitting by the water, and cooling off before heading over to Epcot. Still, that plan eventually led us straight to one of the best snack stops in the park: I.C. Expedition
Understanding the Disney World Summer Water Park Schedule

Before diving into the food, it’s important to plan around Walt Disney World’s current operational strategy for its water parks. Walt Disney World continues to mostly utilize a one-park-open rotation schedule. Typically, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon handles the spring and summer crowds, while Disney’s Blizzard Beach opens for the fall and winter seasons. However, in the summer both water parks are open.
However, exact operational dates can shift, and Walt Disney World occasionally extends seasons or adjusts calendar timelines. Since operating hours and park availability depend heavily on refurbishment schedules and seasonal shifts, we highly recommend checking the official My Disney Experience app or the Walt Disney World website before purchasing tickets to ensure you can secure these specific Blizzard Beach treats during your vacation.
The S’mores Churro That Changed Our Mind About Disney Churros

Let’s start with the star of the show. The S’mores Churro ($9.29) at I.C. Expeditions features fresh churro pieces topped with graham cracker crumbs, marshmallow whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and toasted mini marshmallows. The moment we ordered, the cast member told us it would be about ten minutes. That sounded great since we knew it would be fresh. Your mileage may vary. However, if you get a fresh one, it may change your opinion of Walt Disney World churros.
We watched the churro pieces come straight from the fryer at I.C. Expeditions, get tossed in cinnamon sugar, and then loaded up with toppings. That freshness made all the difference. These weren’t the typical Walt Disney World park churros that have been sitting under a heat lamp.
These were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and absolutely outstanding. The toppings were balanced perfectly, too. There was enough chocolate, marshmallow, and graham cracker flavor to give you those classic s’mores vibes without completely burying the churro itself. Every bite still tasted like churro first, s’mores second. Our food reporters thought that is how it should be.
In fact, they compared these Blizzard Beach treats to something you’d more likely order at Nomad Lounge or Three Bridges Bar & Grill than from a water park snack stand. If all Walt Disney World churros were like this, we would probably order them all the time. Additionally, if you enjoy S’mores dessert, you can try the S’mores Cookie at Universal Orlando Resort.
Blizzard Beach Treats at I.C. Expeditions: The Perfect Poolside Dessert?

As good as the churros were, the Strawberry Shortcake ($7.59) dessert tasted great too. This sundae- like dessert layers vanilla cake, strawberry puree, strawberry and vanilla swirl Dole soft serve, whipped cream, and a cherry into a surprisingly refreshing summer treat.
If the churros delivered warm comfort-food vibes, this delivered everything you’d want on a hot Florida day. It was cold, creamy, sweet, and refreshing. The strawberry flavor tasted bright and fresh, the vanilla cake added just enough substance, and the Dole soft serve kept everything light enough that it never felt overly rich. Our food reporters loved how much it actually tasted like strawberry shortcake. Not strawberry ice cream! Not a strawberry sundae! Actual strawberry shortcake! That’s harder to pull off than it sounds.
Blizzard Beach Treats: Our Food Reporters Suggest Ordering Both!

In fairness, our crew knows ice cream and Dole soft serve. If they say order both, you shuld probably take that suggestions. Now, if you know the S’Mores Churro will not be fresh, then maybe skip that.
However, combining the warm, crispy chocolate goodness of the fresh S’mores Churro at I.C. Expeditions with the bright, frosty bite of the Strawberry Shortcake at I.C. Expeditions gives you the best of both worlds. Our food reporters thought these were easily some of the most memorable Blizzard Beach treats available today.
