Fast Food Boulevard menu changes at Universal Studios Florida remove Chicken & Waffles, Ribwich, and unique sides from Springfield favorites.

In recent weeks, we have seen a “simplification” of menus at Universal Orlando Resort. Recently, we mourned the loss of the French Toast Patty Melt at Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen.
However, if there’s one place inside Universal Studios Florida where fans expected chaotic cartoon energy and surprisingly fun food, it was Fast Food Boulevard in Springfield. For years, this Simpsons-themed quick-service food court stood out as one of the park’s more creative dining locations. It wasn’t just burgers and fries. No, it was burgers, chicken sandwiches stacked on waffles, the legendary Ribwich, and side options that made you feel like you were eating in a fever dream scripted by The Simpsons writers.
Nonetheless, it appears the menu has been hit harder than Homer’s diet plan. Recent menu comparisons show some of Fast Food Boulevard’s most unique offerings have vanished, while side options have been simplified. In other words: Springfield’s culinary golden age may be over.
In fairness, the food was never great at Fast Food Boulevard. Still, it offered some unique menu items, elevating it slightly from a standard theme park food court.
The Chicken & Waffle Sandwich Has Left the Building

Once upon a time, guests could order the gloriously ridiculous Chicken & Waffle Sandwich from Cletus’ Chicken Shack from the Fast Food Boulevard menu. This featured crispy fried chicken breast wedged between two waffles and topped with maple syrup mayo. It was sweet, savory, crunchy, messy, and everything theme park food should aspire to be. Now? No chicken, waffles or maple mayo. No joy.
This was one of those menu items that made Fast Food Boulevard different from every other counter-service spot in Orlando. Without it, the lineup feels a little more… Ned Flanders than Krusty the Clown.
The Ribwich Is No More

Perhaps even more heartbreaking to foodies is the disappearance of the Ribwich. For Simpsons fans, the Ribwich is part of the lore. It famously appeared in the series as an obsession-inducing limited-time sandwich for Homer. Universal Orlando Resort turned the joke into reality by serving a boneless rib sandwich topped with coleslaw on a specialty bun.
However, now, like the animal it was allegedly made from, it has mysteriously gone extinct. To remove the Ribwich from Springfield is like removing the castle from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter or the shark from Jaws. It just feels wrong.
Side Options Also Took a Hit

Part of the Fast Food Boulevard menu’s charm was that sides weren’t boring. Instead of default fries everywhere, guests could find things like tater tots, “Kurly” fries, fruit, and other sides. That is no longer true. Those quirky alternatives helped the venue feel customized and playful. Now the experience appears more streamlined and less imaginative, with fewer of the unexpected touches that made Springfield memorable. Or, to put it in Simpsons jargon: someone replaced the Duff Beer with lukewarm tap water.
Fast Food Boulevard Menu Change: Why the Big Deal?

Theme park fans notice when menus lose personality. Universal Orlando Resort has built a strong reputation in recent years for improving food quality across the resort. Many locations now serve genuinely solid meals. That’s why the Fast Food Boulevard menu shrinking into a more generic burger-and-fried-food setup feels disappointing.
This wasn’t supposed to be “Random Theme Park Food Court #7.” People, this is Springfield! This was where you could eat a Ribwich while staring at Lard Lad and wondering if life had peaked.
Fast Food Boulevard Menu Lives On

The Fast Food Boulevard menu still offers fun theming, plenty of seating, and one of the most entertaining dining atmospheres in Universal Studios Florida. However, the weakening of the menu, especially losing the Chicken & Waffle Sandwich and the Ribwich, takes away what made it special.
What remains may fill your stomach. However, it will not fill your Simpsons soul. As Homer might say: “Why, you little… menu planner!”
