The biggest news of the day is located with the newly repainted construction walls in the New York area. We spotted a brand-new, beautifully painted construction sign for the Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift attraction. The signage confirms a 2027 opening date, giving fans a clear timeline for experiencing this highly anticipated drifting coaster.

The park is currently in a state of transition. We noticed several large stages being set up across Universal Studios Florida for Rock the Universe, which kicks off this Friday.

Additionally, the spirit of the bayou is arriving early. We saw the first two Mardi Gras food booths being positioned in the New York section of the park. While menus aren’t posted yet, it’s a sure sign that the festival is just around the corner.

Universal Orlando Trip Report: Wait Times & Refurbishments

Universal Orlando Trip Report

If you were hoping for a quick ride on Jurassic World VelociCoaster on January 21, you likely found yourself waiting. We tracked significantly higher wait times for the apex predator today, with the queue holding steady at 75+ minutes for most of the late morning and afternoon. This was also true for Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure.

Meanwhile, over at Finnegan’s Bar & Grill, new signage has been posted indicating the scheduled refurbishment. The Irish pub will be closed for the foreseeable future, so plan your lunch breaks accordingly. Finnegan’s Bar & Grill is scheduled to reopen in winter 2026, so late December.
