Our adventures took us to Voyager’s Smokehouse at SeaWorld Orlando to taste test the Smoked Carved Turkey Sandwich. As fans of the turkey sandwich at Zambia Smokehouse (located at sister park Busch Gardens Tampa Bay), a trip to SeaWorld’s premier smokehouse felt like a natural progression for our team.

Voyager’s Smokehouse: A BBQ Hub

Voyager's Smokehouse

Voyager’s Smokehouse serves as the aromatic heart of SeaWorld Orlando’s dining scene. Located near the Waterfront, this high-capacity eatery uses genuine hickory wood to slow-smoke its meats, creating a scent that draws guests in from across the park. The interior features a rustic, nautical-meets-smokehouse aesthetic with ample indoor seating—a massive perk during those hot Florida afternoons. While it is built for speed, the restaurant prioritizes traditional BBQ techniques, offering a menu centered on ribs, brisket, and chicken. It remains one of the most popular stops for families looking for a hearty, sit-down meal in a quick-service format.

The atmosphere inside Voyager’s is a blend of efficiency and comfort. Despite the heavy crowds that swarm the smokehouse during peak hours, the high ceilings and wooden beams provide a cooling respite from the Florida sun. It is a place where the crackle of the smoker and the hustle of the kitchen create an immersive “backyard barbecue” feel, even if you are just steps away from the high-thrill coasters.

SeaWorld All-Day Dining Plan

SeaWorld All-Day Dining Plan

Before we can properly discuss the Smoked Carved Turkey Sandwich at Voyager’s Smokehouse, a primer on All-Day Dining is in order. The All-Day Dining Deal is SeaWorld’s most popular add-on, allowing guests to enjoy an entrée, side, or dessert, plus a non-alcoholic beverage, every 90 minutes. At SeaWorld Orlando, this plan offers incredible convenience, but it does come with specific “rules of the road” that vary by location. While it provides a predictable cost (current price $59.99) for a full day of eating, guests should be aware that not every menu item is included. Navigating these restrictions is key to maximizing the value of the plan, especially at high-demand locations like Voyager’s, where portions are typically generous.

When utilizing the plan here, the value proposition is high, provided you stick to the approved items. However, the rigid nature of the plan means you have to be strategic. For those who enjoy a variety of flavors, the ability to return every hour and a half makes the plan a “must-buy” for many families. Just be prepared to wait in line, as Voyager’s is consistently the busiest dining spot in the park.

Smoked Carved Turkey Sandwich: Menu Description and Pricing

Smoked Carved Turkey Sandwich

Currently, there is no official description or pricing listed on the SeaWorld website. However, the on-site menu indicates that the Smoked Carved Turkey Sandwich is only available during “lunch hours.” Curiously, these hours aren’t posted, though we successfully ordered our meal at 1:40 p.m.

However, the in-person menu boards include a description of the Smoked Carved Turkey Sandwich. It costs $18.99. The menu description reads “Lettuce, Tomato, Muenster Cheese. Served with Fries.” This does not indicate the type of bread or the honey mustard used with the sandwich.

The Dining Experience

Smoked Carved Turkey Sandwich

This sandwich is made-to-order, which is a double-edged sword. While we appreciated the freshness, guests should expect to wait significantly longer than they would for a standard platter. In our case, it took ten minutes longer than other entrées. This can be an essential variable when using All-Day Dining, since your timer for the next meal starts after you scan at checkout, after you receive your food and beverage.

One unexpected positive was the availability of sauce and ketchup containers—a rare win compared to the situation at Busch Gardens. We were also met with a very rigid All-Day Dining procedure. A sign at the entrance indicates that plan users only have access to about half the menu. However, SeaWorld Orlando has recently added two loaded mac & cheese dishes to the rotation to bolster the options.

Smoked Carved Turkey Sandwich: How It Tastes

Smoked Carved Turkey Sandwich

The sandwich is served on a hoagie-style bun that, while fresh, felt far too “bready” compared to the version at Busch Gardens. If you are on a low-carb diet, we suggest sticking to the ribs or roasted chicken. While the turkey itself was high-quality and fresh, the portion was underwhelming. By the second half of the sandwich, the meat seemed to disappear, leaving us with a lot of bread and very little protein. Furthermore, the honey mustard lacked the robust flavor profile we expected.

Our side of mac and cheese (not pictured) was creamy, but surprisingly bland. We found ourselves wondering where the actual cheese flavor went. It had the right texture, but the flavor profile was muted. While the Smoked Carved Turkey Sandwich is a fresh alternative to heavy BBQ, it doesn’t quite crack our top three list of SeaWorld quick-service items. It is a solid, clean bite, but lacks the “wow” factor of its Tampa counterpart.
