Sofrito Chicken SeaWorld delivers massive portions and bold Latin flavors at Waterway Grill, making it a standout All-Day Dining option at SeaWorld Orlando.

If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if a theme park quick-service kitchen lost a friendly wager to a chicken supplier, allow us to introduce you to the Sofrito Chicken SeaWorld Orlando. This can be found at Waterway Grill at SeaWorld Orlando near the Infinity Falls attraction. This entrée doesn’t just arrive on your tray. It makes an entrance.
Waterway Grill Overview

Waterway Grill is a popular quick-service dining location at SeaWorld Orlando, known for offering heartier, more thoughtfully prepared meals than the average theme park counter. The menu typically includes crowd-pleasers like slow-roasted pork, grilled chicken options, and seasonal desserts. It’s a solid stop for guests looking to use the All-Day Dining Plan wisely, as portion sizes here tend to be generous and filling. That said, during our visit, the ordering queue became noticeably slow around 12:30 p.m., with lines growing quickly. Mobile ordering is available, but not for annual pass members using rewards or All-Day Dining Plan users.

During a recent visit, we ordered (for our first time), the Sofrito Chicken SeaWorld Orlando. In previous visits, we have enjoyed the Roasted Pork dish.

Interestingly, there’s no menu description listed online for this dish on SeaWorld Orlando’s website. At the restaurant, however, the posted description at Waterway Grill reads:
“Sofrito Chicken – Chicken with sofrito seasoning, served with black beans and cilantro rice.”
À la carte price: $24.79
Simple description. Not a simple portion.
Sofrito Chicken SeaWorld Orlando Portion Size: When the Chicken Outsizes the Container

Let’s get right to it: this chicken is massive. Cartoonishly so. The kind of portion that makes you briefly wonder if it was supposed to be sliced for multiple guests but forgot to stop growing.

Yes, technically, there are rice and beans underneath it. We know this because we were told. Visibility was limited due to the chicken occupying roughly 93% of the container’s usable real estate. Our reporter couldn’t help but question why this enormous piece of poultry was served in a container that clearly did not consent to the arrangement.
This is easily a shareable quick-service entrée, and even then, it may still win. Our professional food reporter did not finish the meal—and they tried. In fairness, they had already eaten two meals at that point in the day.

That said, while the portion size is impressive, it’s still hard to justify $24.79 à la carte, especially for a quick-service setting. This is where strategy and the All-Day Dining Plan comes into play.
Sofrito Chicken SeaWorld Orlando Taste & Temperature: Shockingly Warm, Comfortingly Flavorful

The Sofrito Chicken SeaWorld Orlando was served very warm, and impressively so. It stayed warm even as photos were taken, notes were jotted down, and nearby guests stopped to chat after spotting us dining at SeaWorld Orlando.
Flavor-wise, this chicken clearly leans into a Latin American sofrito profile, setting it apart from the more standard roasted or rotisserie-style chicken often found at Florida theme parks. The seasoning is savory, herbaceous, and aromatic, delivering a depth of flavor that feels intentional rather than generic.
This is not just “theme park chicken.” This chicken has opinions.
Rice & Beans: Doing Exactly What Rice & Beans Do

Beneath the poultry behemoth, the black beans and cilantro rice were solid. They’re good, but let’s be honest, they’re still rice and beans at a theme park. You’re unlikely to reminisce about them years from now, but they do their job well and complement the chicken nicely.
A Quick Sofrito Sidebar: Which Sofrito Is This?
“Sofrito chicken” can actually mean two very different dishes, depending on culinary tradition, and this one clearly falls into the Latin American category, not the Sephardic Jewish preparation.
Latin American Sofrito Chicken
Common in Puerto Rican, Dominican, and Cuban cooking, sofrito here refers to a blended aromatic base of onions, garlic, peppers, cilantro, and sometimes culantro.
- Cooking Style: Chicken is browned, then simmered in the sofrito
- Flavor Profile: Herbaceous, savory, aromatic
- Typical Pairing: Rice (check), sometimes beans (also check)
This version aligns perfectly with what’s served at Waterway Grill.
The Sephardic/Israeli sofrito, by contrast, is more about braising chicken and potatoes with minimal liquid and deep caramelization—delicious, but very different. This is not that.
All-Day Dining Win: The Real Value Play

During this visit, we used SeaWorld Orlando’s All-Day Dining Plan, which we purchased at a significant discount, and that’s where this entrée truly shines.
With All-Day Dining, we received:
- The Sofrito Chicken entrée
- A soft drink (Coke Zero Sugar)
- A cupcake

Suddenly, that massive chicken feels a lot more reasonable. In fact, it feels like an outstanding deal.
The SeaWorld Orlando All-Day Dining Plan allows guests to enjoy a full entrée, side or dessert, and a drink every 90 minutes at participating locations throughout the park. While the plan can feel pricey at full cost, discounted versions, especially for passholders, can offer excellent value. Entrées like the Sofrito Chicken or Slow Roasted Pork at Waterway Grill make the plan particularly worthwhile due to their generous portions. One important caveat: guests using All-Day Dining cannot use mobile ordering, which can lead to longer waits during peak dining hours.
The current posted online price for this plan is $59.99. On the day of our visit, the price was reduced 20% due to a posted sale. For the record, we have seen that sale running on and off since at least spring of 2025. Since we had accumulated some SeaWorld pass member rewards, we were able to reduce the price of the All-Day Dining Plan down even more significantly. So, the four meals we had that day cost very little compared to posted pricing and even realistic non-theme park pricing.
Sofrito Chicken SeaWorld Orlando: Big Chicken Energy

The Sofrito Chicken SeaWorld Orlando sells at Waterway Grill is a high-quality quick-service option with standout flavor and a portion size that borders on absurd…in a good way. While it’s tough to recommend at the full à la carte price, it becomes an easy win when paired with the All-Day Dining Plan.
If you’re using All-Day Dining, guests truly cannot go wrong with this entrée or the Slow Roasted Pork. Just be prepared: when this chicken arrives, it’s no longer your table…it’s the chicken’s.
