Two new CommuniCore Hall cookies debut at the 2025 Epcot International Festival of the Holidays: the Ginger-Molasses Cookie and the Prototype Cookie.

Epcot Festival of the Holidays 2025 has officially sprinkled its seasonal sugar across the park, and this year CommuniCore Hall joins the fun with two brand-new cookies, one delightful, one… still in the prototype phase. Guests visiting this newly buzzing area can grab these treats on their Cookie Stroll, meet Santa, and watch the returning Spaceship Earth light display shimmer through CommuniCore Hall.

Let’s break down the two treats—one nice, one naughty—and help you decide which cookie deserves your festival calories.
CommuniCore Hall Cookies: Ginger-Molasses Cookie with Cream Cheese Icing – $3.50

Location: CommuniCore Hall
Every so often, a festival cookie sneaks up on us and becomes an instant classic. This warm, gooey Ginger-Molasses Cookie was absolutely that cookie.
Our notes captured the experience perfectly:
- Soft.
- Chewy.
- Gooey.
- Shockingly good.
And yes—dangerously messy.
This cookie keeps things simple: no over-the-top decorations, no wild ingredients, no unnecessary gimmicks. And yet…it works beautifully. The ginger doesn’t hit too harshly. The molasses doesn’t drown the flavor in syrupy intensity. Everything balances like a well-behaved holiday choir.

And then there’s the icing.
Oh, the icing.
A thick, luscious, borderline structural layer of cream cheese icing that’s almost the same thickness as the cookie itself. It’s sweet, unmistakably cream-cheesy, and absolutely not a snack to eat right before a group photo. Is it messy? Yes. Does it matter? Absolutely not.
For $3.50, this might be one of the best-value bites of the entire Festival. Plus, it counts toward your Cookie Stroll prize. Still, honestly, the reward here is simply getting to eat more of them. This cookie is firmly on our Nice List, and you may see us hoarding them like holiday squirrels all season long.
Prototype Cookie – Sugar Cookie with Orange-Cranberry Icing & Dark Chocolate – $4.75

Location: CommuniCore Hall
Now for the cookie boldly going where no cookie has gone before…The Prototype Cookie looks stunning. Genuinely stunning. The design imprinted into the dark chocolate resembles a tiny piece of Spaceship Earth, adorable, clever, and very on-brand for Epcot’s favorite geodesic icon. We almost didn’t want to eat it.
And then we did. The dark chocolate arrives in two thin layers that like the prototype name suggests aren’t quite structurally stable yet. They break apart faster than you can say “test track.” Underneath, a layer of orange-cranberry icing adds color, texture, and an aroma of festive citrus.
Still, the flavors? Let’s just say the Imagineers might still be tinkering with this one backstage.
While one member of our group loves dark chocolate, cranberry, and sugar cookies individually, the flavor trio didn’t quite harmonize here. They found this cookie very disappointing. The dark chocolate layer tastes pleasantly smooth, almost like a Dove piece, but the thin icing below adds more texture than actual flavor. It’s an improvement over some of the offerings in CommuniCore Hall in 2024, but it still lands on our Naughty List for 2025 regarding the two new CommuniCore Hall cookies.
Beautiful to look at. Fun to photograph. Perfectly festive. However, the flavors never quite assemble into something memorable with the second of the new CommuniCore Hall cookies
Extra Reasons to Visit CommuniCore Hall This Year

As if sampling two new CommuniCore Hall cookies wasn’t enough of a reason to visit, this year CommuniCore Hall has become a mini North Pole annex. Guests can meet Santa, bask in the glow of the returning Spaceship Earth holiday light display, and check out the refreshed festival décor throughout the space. If you’re grabbing a Ginger-Molasses Cookie, take it from us—watching the shimmering light show while eating this warm, spiced delight should count as a form of holiday therapy.
