The most wonderful time of the year is launching early. Legoland Florida holidays are kicking off with an out-of-this-world event! Legoland Florida Resort has announced a spectacular, space-themed lighting of its iconic, over 30-foot-tall LEGO Christmas Tree to begin Holidays at Legoland, Presented by Hallmark Channel, on Saturday, December 6, 2025.
This year’s illumination event is truly stellar, featuring a partnership with Blue Origin’s Club for the Future and welcoming renowned science communicator, TV host, and aerospace engineer Emily Calandrelli, better known as “The Space Gal,” as the honorary Tree Lighter.
The Space Gal at Legoland Florida Holidays
Emily Calandrelli, “The Space Gal,” is an accomplished aerospace engineer, author, and Emmy-nominated science communicator. She holds Master’s degrees from MIT in aeronautics/astronautics and technology/policy.
Calandrelli hosts and produces Netflix’s Emily’s Wonder Lab and FOX’s Xploration Outer Space. She is also a New York Times Bestselling Author of the Ada Lace Adventures children’s book series, designed to inspire youth in science. In November 2024, she became the 100th woman in space, flying aboard a Blue Origin New Shepard rocket. She uses her platform to advocate for scientific literacy and women in STEM careers.
The Launch
The “launch” theme is a direct nod to the resort’s exciting future, as the ceremony will celebrate the upcoming Galacticoaster, the world’s first indoor LEGO space-themed family coaster, which is slated to debut in 2026. Families visiting Legoland Florida can join Emily for the tree lighting ceremony at 6:45 p.m. as the massive tree, built from more than 360,000 LEGO and DUPLO bricks, shines bright for the first time this holiday season.
Legoland Florida Holidays: Central Florida’s Family-Friendly Tradition
The tree lighting on December 6th officially marks the start of the full Holidays at Legoland celebration. The Legoland Florida holidays event is included with general park admission and returns on select dates: December 6, 13, 20, and December 24–31.
Groups visiting the resort during the holidays can look forward to a full slate of brick-tastic festive fun, including:
- Meet-and-greets with LEGO Santa and his festive Minifigure crew.
- Elf-tastic interactive entertainment.

The entire season of Legoland Florida holidays culminates on December 31 with Florida’s only Kids’ New Year’s Eve Celebration, featuring extended park hours and a dazzling fireworks display to ring in 2026.
