Unless you’ve avoided all pop culture information, the Taylor Swift phenomenon should have had an impact on your world. However, Taylor Swift’s 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, released this weekend, sparked a significant cultural phenomenon by embracing the dazzling yet complex world of a theatrical performer. Conceived during her record-breaking Eras Tour, the album and its accompanying aesthetic, characterized by “Portofino Orange Glitter,” sequins, and feathers, celebrate the high-wattage glamour of the showgirl archetype, reminiscent of classic Las Vegas and old Hollywood.

In addition to the spooky lineup, Everglazed dropped a surprise, a donut inspired by Taylor Swift. The Life of a Dough Girl” donut became available on October 3. Currently, we are unsure how long this donut will remain available. Like the Taylor Swift-inspired cupcake at Sprinkles, this could be gone today. Still, we expect it to stick around longer based on sales so far. Additionally, when we arrived on the first day to try it, the cast members informed us that the bakers were still working on preparing it.

This Taylor Swift Donut Everglazed design utilizes orange icing and sprinkles on top. The signature circular candy piece (“12”) is on top, similar to how this donut shop has used it before with other Taylor Swift Donut Everglazed creations. The official description of the Taylrop Swift donut reads, “ORANGE
FLAVORED ICING, VANILLA BUTTERCREAM, PEARLS, GLITTER, EDIBLE 12′ DISC.”

Our Review of Taylor Swift Donut Everglazed – The Life of a Dough Girl ($6.50)

We found this Taylor Swift donut Everglazed designed to be good, as one would expect at Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew. The base donut provides all the support expected for the specialty donuts at Everglazed. The orange icing, along with the glitter, gives off the Vegas showgirl appearance to fit this donut’s theme. Additionally, the signature buttercream Everglazed features on most of its products performs admirably.

Still, this donut failed to impress us. Sure, it was good. However, like the Halloween donuts, the toppings look good. Yet, they do not bring as much enjoyable flavor as many of the signature specialty donuts served every day at Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew. Despite that, any Taylor Swift fan should give this donut a try, if only for the photo. We wish you luck finding it in stock at Everglazed and the chefs still making them. Remember, they were not ready on the morning we went.
