The Volo Museum, famous for its wild collection of vehicles that range from Hollywood legends to nostalgic oddities, is opening its vault. And at the top of the auction list? A real, Disney-used, Barbie Pink Convertible that once cruised through the streets of Walt Disney World. Yes, the official Barbie car—not a replica, not a fan build—is heading to public auction with no reserve starting August 1, and you could be the next proud owner.

From Cruella to Barbie to Miss Piggy: A Disney Parks Icon

Originally painted white and driven by Cruella de Vil herself in WDW parades during the 1990s, this custom Cadillac convertible later received a head-to-toe makeover in Barbie’s iconic pink. It spent the rest of its years at the parks chauffeuring not just the world’s most famous doll, but also Miss Piggy during special events.

This isn’t just a Cadillac with a coat of pink paint. It’s an officially documented Disney show vehicle. The car includes Disney-issued registration, features a VIN registered under Walt Disney’s name, and comes with internal documentation detailing its use in park productions.

“This is the only one of its kind available to the public,” said Brian Grams, director of the Volo Museum. “You will never find another Barbie car like this with official Disney registration and documented park history.”

Disney Barbie Car Auction Headlines a Truly Bizarre Lineup

The auction, hosted on eBay, runs August 1 through August 7 and is open to anyone with an account. And while the Barbie Cadillac is clearly the headliner, the rest of the catalog is just as jaw-dropping. Highlights include:

  • A 14-foot tall, 8-passenger hot rod shopping cart (yes, it runs)
  • A street-legal giant Radio Flyer red wagon
  • Britney Spears’ Mercedes convertible, once dubbed “the most dangerous car in Los Angeles”
  • A 45-foot-tall Ferris wheel from the 1940s
  • Dozens of vintage kiddie rides and Americana-style museum pieces

“These items have delighted hundreds of thousands of guests,” said Grams. “But we’re always evolving. Letting these go makes room for new treasures and gives others the chance to enjoy and preserve them.”

Disney Barbie Car Auction: Walt Disney World Collectibles Don’t Get Rarer Than This

If you’re a Disney Parks memorabilia collector, this might be the most unique opportunity you’ll ever have. Park-used vehicles rarely leave Disney hands, and this one hits a rare sweet spot—appealing to fans of Disney, Barbie, and over-the-top 1990s nostalgia all at once.

Barbie at Walt Disney World

Barbie made a splash at Walt Disney World during the 1990s, riding the wave of her cultural dominance and Mattel’s partnership with Disney. Her most notable moment came with “The Magical World of Barbie” stage show, which ran at EPCOT’s American Gardens Theatre in 1994. This high-energy musical featured Barbie as a globe-trotting fashion icon, complete with glamorous costume changes and a cast of dancers. Though the show only ran for a year, it left a lasting impression—and plenty of pink merchandise in its wake.

Barbie was also a frequent star of parades and special events. At Magic Kingdom, she appeared in character cavalcades, sometimes riding in custom vehicles—like the now-auctioned Cadillac convertible that was originally Cruella de Vil’s car before being repainted Barbie pink.

Although her official Disney presence faded in the late ’90s as Disney began to focus more on its own Princess brand, Barbie’s time at the parks marked a unique era when two entertainment giants—Disney and Mattel—collaborated on experiences that blended fashion, fantasy, and fun. Today, sightings of Barbie at Disney World are rare, but her legacy (and her Cadillac) lives on through collectors and nostalgic fans.
