A few days before annual passholder previews started for Zootopia: Better Zoogether, Walt Disney World announced some special Zootopia Animal Kingdom dining options at Isle of Java. Of course, the announcement came with the revealing of the Zootopia popcorn bucket.

However, Disney’s Animal Kingdom is buzzing with the energy of its new show, Zootopia: Better Zoogether, which opened recently in the Tree of Life Theater. This small, yet significant, transformation to Discovery Island has brought with it a flurry of fun, themed snacks. We decided to visit the Isle of Java kiosk, conveniently located near Flame Tree Barbecue, to test out two limited-time treats tied directly to the new Zootopia experience.

These two items tell a familiar Disney story: one is a runaway success in flavor and form, and the other is an ambitious novelty that struggles to unite its concepts. Together, they offer a great snapshot of the opening weekend buzz and how Disney balances aesthetics with flavor.

The Sweetheart: Clawhauser’s Big Donut Macaron ($5.99)

The Vibe: An unapologetically photogenic snack that masterfully blends two classic treats. Shaped like a full-size doughnut and wearing a glossy chocolate “glaze” with rainbow sprinkles, this treat is a playful nod to Zootopia’s beloved officer Clawhauser. It looks like a doughnut but eats like a classic macaron.

The Flavor: This is the clear winner of the duo. It’s larger than you expect, which works in its favor, as you actually get enough filling to appreciate the flavor combination truly. The interior sandwiches a generous layer of chocolate ganache and a ribbon of bright strawberry jelly. The rich, smooth chocolate harmonizes beautifully with the tart berry. While macarons can veer chalky when mishandled, this one maintains that crucial lightness, delicate chew, and the cool, smooth center, giving guests the doughnut illusion without pretending to be a pastry.

The Verdict: Cute, yes, but more importantly, it delivers on flavor. It’s easily shareable, snaps great photos, and fits that Animal Kingdom afternoon sweet spot when you want something fun without committing to a full dessert stop. This is a repeat buy.

The Conversation Starter: Bunny Burrow Brew ($5.99)

The Vibe: A visually clever, layered cold brew that aims for a cute color story. The cup contains Joffrey’s French Roast Cold Brew, with vibrant blueberry syrup pooled at the bottom and a thick cap of sweetened condensed milk floating on top. It’s garnished with whipped cream, a sugar carrot, and chocolate crisp “blueberries.”

The Flavor: On paper, the combination of blueberry, coffee, and cream is intriguing. In practice, the density of the sweetened condensed milk makes it stubborn. It thickens and clings to the bottom of the cup, which makes stirring a small battle. Sipping through a standard straw won’t pull it up either, leading to alternating gulps of straight coffee, pure syrup, and a slow, late rush of sweetness.

The Verdict: This leans far more into novelty than daily drinker. The flavors themselves aren’t a mismatch, but the layered format struggles to unite them. If you do try the coffee, stir early and often! A wider straw or warmer base might have helped, but as served, it’s more for the photo op than a balanced beverage.

Zootopia Animal Kingdom Dining: A Delicious Detour on Discovery Island

If you’re choosing just one Zootopia Animal Kingdom dining option, the macaron is the move. It tastes as good as it looks and will undoubtedly make your highlight reel. The coffee, on the other hand, will definitely make the group chat.

What makes this little tasting worthwhile is how it amplifies the mood of the day. Pairing a themed treat with a new attraction like Zootopia: Better Zoogether gives the experience a tangible beginning, middle, and end. You wander in for a snack, compare notes while you head to the queue, and ride the energy right into the theater. This quick stop adds another layer of texture to the multi-layered experience of Animal Kingdom. If your group would like to split up and move around, you can just pencil in five minutes here on your following Animal Kingdom circuit.
