With “Zootopia” taking over the Tree of Life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and “Zootopia 2” being released in theatres later this year, Disney fans have plenty to anticipate regarding Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. Walt Disney Animation Studios unveiled the first teaser trailer for “Zootopia 2,” the sequel to the studio’s Best Animated Feature Oscar winner from 2016, which opens in theaters on November 26.
Zootopia 2 Teaser Trailer

While Disney has yet to release full plot details for “Zootopia 2,” the teaser trailer offers hints about what will come in the sequel. The story appears to pick up after the first film’s events, with Judy Hopps continuing her work as Zootopia’s first bunny cop, now partnered more officially with the street-smart fox, Nick Wilde. The teaser hints at a larger conspiracy threatening the city’s delicate balance between predator and prey, possibly involving a new wave of high-tech crime that challenges everything the duo has worked to build.

In the Zootopia 2 teaser trailer, we see glimpses of new districts beyond those featured in the first film, introducing fresh environments and species, expanding the world of Zootopia. There also appear to be tensions brewing within the government, suggesting deeper themes of trust, leadership, and social unity. Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde appear to be wanted for something. This most likely connects to the arrival of Gary De’Snake (voiced by Ke Huy Quan) being in town. It seems that to crack the case, they must go to unexpected new parts of town, where their growing partnership is tested like never before.
Fans can expect a mix of action, humor, and heart, along with important messages about diversity and inclusion, just like the original movie. With a return of beloved characters and the introduction of new allies and antagonists, “Zootopia 2” looks set to be a thrilling and timely continuation of the story that captured hearts worldwide. The sequel looks to dive deeper into Zootopia.
