Discover why Primo Piatto at Disney’s Riviera Resort serves one of the best and most affordable soups at Walt Disney World. A delicious bowl for under $5!

Sometimes, a good bowl of soup sounds like it would hit the spot. In fairness, a warm bowl of soup in the summer in Florida does not always make a great plan. This is one of the many reasons we wonder about the fan-favorite Cheedar Cheese Soup at the Epcot Food & Wine Festival being so popular even in August and September.
Nevertheless, cool mornings and evenings do exist at Walt Disney World. Also, the afternoon rain showers can leave one looking for a way to warm up. Whatever the reason, a bowl of soup can be cost-effective and filling simultaneously.
Disney’s Riviera Resort is our favorite place to get a bowl of soup. This Deluxe-level Resort presents guests with some of the best dining options at Walt Disney World Resort. Primo Piatto stands as one of the best quick service operations at Walt Disney World. It also provides the quick service dining options at Disney’s Riviera Resort.
Disney’s Riviera Resort sits only a short Disney Skyliner trip away from Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Any guests can visit this resort and Primo Piatto to enjoy the elevated quick service dining there.
Best Disney World Soup?
In fairness, there are better soups across Walt Disney World Resort. With so many lobster bisque options and other elevated soups, guests can find better quality soup on the property. However, can they find a good bowl of soup for under five dollars? You can at Primo Piatto!
Primo Piatto Tomato Soup – $4.59

What used to be referred to as the “Soup de Jour” is now simply called Tomato Soup. That makes sense since it was almost always tomato soup when called Soup de Jour. The menu description reads, “Creamy Tomato Soup with Focaccia Croutons and Extra Virgin Olive Oil.” Guests do not receive an annual pass discount at Primo Piatto.
This bowl of soup comes with plenty of croutons. When enjoying it, we thought this would pair well with several of the sandwiches served at Primo Piatto. Though this varies, based on our visits, you can receive a cup of soup with some entrees as your side.
This soup provides plenty of cream, as you would expect at this Riviera-themed resort. Also, as you would expect, this comes very warm and fresh, delivered to your table. Guests will detect a fresh basil flavor in this soup. This version of tomato soup offers a savory sensation that we expect most guests to appreciate. The soup does not lack in flavor for those anticipating a standard canned soup texture and taste. In addition, the seasoning reminded us of the croque monsieur sandwich (the close relative of the Croque Madame) sold here for lunch and dinner.

The Tomato Soup at Primo Piatto may not sound like much. Nevertheless, it provides robust flavor and reasonable theme park resort pricing. While we understand that ordering soup in Florida sounds odd, Primo Piatto’s cool air conditioning provides a safe haven from the heat to savor this soup.
