On the first day of Flavors of Florida at Disney Springs, we visited Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ to try the limited-time Tupelo Chicken and Biscuits. These cost $22. The Tupelo Chicken Biscuits consist of Chicken biscuits dressed with fresh dill and parsley-ranch slaw lightly drizzled with Tupelo honey from Savannah Bee Company.

For fans of Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’, this Flavors of Florida menu item will look comforting. One popular appetizer at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ is the Thigh High Chicken Biscuits. That signature menu item remains very popular with Walt Disney World guests. Additionally, that popularity continues for good reasons. The Thigh High Chicken Biscuits feature three biscuits containing Chef Art’s famous fried chicken thighs and B&B pickles, and then drizzled with hot honey. Many guests have that item as their entrée.

We visited Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ on the opening day of Flavors of Florida. Since we visit this table service restaurant often, they knew why we were there. So, we did not even have to order. They knew why we were there. Of course, they made sure diet sodas were available while we dined.

Our Review

We ordered several Flavors of Florida food options on the opening day of the event. In simple terms, this qualifies as the best one we tried that day. Later this week, we plan to return to Disney Springs to try several more Flavors of Florida offerings, so that ranking may change. However, this elevated version of a signature item at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ will be tough to beat.

The special Tupelo honey elevates the flavor of the buttery biscuits. Of course, it is hard to go wrong with good honey and a tasty biscuit. Additionally, the dill and parsley-ranch slaw surprised our group with its quality. Rumor also has it that this is the same slaw on the new-ish Art’s Hot Chicken Sandwich on the everyday menu. In fact, we think even people who enjoy pickles will prefer this slaw over pickles with the chicken. The Tupelo Chicken Biscuits were a hit with our group. We also suspect Disney Springs diners will agree.
