Halloween is officially in full swing at Krispy Kreme, and this year’s Trick or Treat Collection is here to deliver spooky sugar rushes galore. Our team took a break from theme park haunts to sample all four Krispy Kreme Halloween doughnuts, and they’re every bit as colorful and creative as the season demands. Available for a limited time nationwide, this collection is served in a festive Halloween-themed box, blending candy-aisle nostalgia with Krispy Kreme’s signature glazed doughnuts.
The Trick or Treat Collection features four new designs: Jack-O-Lantern, Candy Bag, Spooky Sprinkle, and Cookies & Skreme House. Each Krispy Kreme Halloween doughnut looks like it could double as a prop in a Halloween parade, bright, sugary, and just the right amount of over-the-top.
Krispy Kreme Halloween Doughnuts: Jack-O-Lantern
This cheerful orange treat is Krispy Kreme’s take on a classic pumpkin patch favorite. It’s filled with creamy pumpkin-spice flavored buttercream and dipped in orange icing, with a smiling jack-o-lantern face piped on top. The flavor hits all the cozy fall notes, sweet pumpkin, a hint of spice, and the familiar melt-in-your-mouth doughnut base. It’s a return to the kind of comfort food that makes October mornings feel special.
The jack-o’-lantern face with its crooked smile made it a challenge to eat, despite its cuteness. Still, once we cut it open, we found less buttercream within than expected. By the way, the jack-o-lantern smile tasted good. The orange icing was a more dominant flavor over the buttercream, taking away some of the Halloween and pumpkin theming.
Candy Bag Doughnut
The most visually appealing of the bunch, this doughnut resembles a mini trick-or-treat bag overflowing with candy pieces. The base is an Original Glazed doughnut with chocolate buttercream and caramel swirl, and topped with mini trick-or-treat candies. Texturally, it’s the wild card. Some guests may prefer a more subtle flavor profile over the sugary crunch of soft dough. Fans who enjoy extra sweetness and color will love this one; it’s a kid favorite waiting to happen.
This Candy Bag Doughnut offers a delightful blend of flavors from the candies and buttercream. In fact, it might be too much since it starts to overshadow the classic Krispy Kreme doughnut. Still, most guests looking for an elevated doughnut will appreciate this one.
Spooky Sprinkle Doughnut
Sometimes simple works best. The Spooky Sprinkle doughnut is your traditional glazed ring dressed up for Halloween with black, orange, and green sprinkles. No fillings or fancy toppings here, just a classic Krispy Kreme with a festive upgrade. For guests who prefer lighter, less decadent sweets after a day of theme park treats, this one strikes the perfect balance between holiday flair and everyday comfort.
We found that the candy sprinkles placed on half the Spooky Sprinkles Doughnut worked well. Still, the sprinkles will last longer than the icing and glazed doughnut on your teeth. When eating the side of the doughnut without the candy, we enjoyed the icing and base doughnut far more!
Krispy Kreme Halloween Doughnuts: Cookies & Skreme House Doughnut
The showstopper of the collection, this haunted house-inspired doughnut is filled with cookies-and-cream frosting, topped with chocolate icing, cookie crumbles, and a small sugar haunted house decoration. It’s indulgent and over-the-top. This works for guests who want dessert that feels like dessert. The combination of chocolate, cream filling, and crunch feels worthy of a limited-edition spotlight.
Sadly, the haunted-house decoration lacked flavor. This doughnut contained far more filling than the Candy Bag Doughnut. However, the buttercream went all over our hands as we took our first bite. Additionally, we found it odd that the purple icing only covered part of the doughnut. This must relate to the spacing for the haunted house decorative piece.
Overall, we found the Cookies & Skreme House Doughnut to be good but not as good as expected. The filling and cookie crumbles lacked a powerful robust flavor.
Krispy Kreme Halloween Doughnuts: Our Verdict
The Krispy Kreme Halloween donuts deliver exactly what fans expect: colorful designs, nostalgic sweetness, and just enough variety to keep things interesting. While the flavors lean on the sugary side, the presentation makes this collection a good seasonal option. These will only be around through Halloween, October 31.
We found the Jack-O-Lantern and Candy Bag doughnuts to be the most flavorful, while the Spooky Sprinkle offers the best value if you’re grabbing a dozen for a crowd. Whether you’re stopping by Krispy Kreme before hitting a haunted maze or bringing a dozen home after a late-night Universal CityWalk visit, these doughnuts fit right into your fall fun routine.

The Trick or Treat Collection is available now through Halloween 2025 at participating Krispy Kreme shops nationwide, while supplies last. You can order individually, by the dozen, or via the Krispy Kreme app for pickup and delivery. As always, availability and pricing may vary by location. We paid $2.69 each for these doughnuts, except for the Spooky Sprinkle Doughnut, which cost $2.39. Several Krispy Kreme locations are near Universal Orlando and Walt Disney World.
