This week, the actor personally unveiled two brand-new wax figures for Merlin Entertainments, destined for Madame Tussauds New York and Madame Tussauds Orlando.

The New York figure is a direct tribute to Liu’s legendary “Beach” energy. Styled in the powder-blue Versace suit from the Barbie Los Angeles premiere, complete with that iconic gold-hardware harness, the figure captures the actor in full leading-man mode. “The fact that you recreated the outfits, especially the custom Versace that I wore for the premiere of ‘Barbie,’ it’s so intricate,” said Liu. “I appreciate that it’s me and not a character…this is Simu.”
While the New York figure is ready for the Dreamhouse, the Orlando figure, arriving at ICON Park in mid-April, keeps things suave in a mulberry-colored suit inspired by his 2024 People’s Choice Awards look. It’s a sophisticated vibe that says, “I can save the multiverse and still make it to a five-star dinner by 8:00 PM.”
Creating these “variants” of Simu didn’t require a rift in space-time, but it did take 20 studio artists and over 200 precise measurements. From the oil-based skin tones to the hair inserted strand by strand, the result is so lifelike you might be tempted to ask the figure for training tips on how to wield ancient mystical weaponry (or just how to pull off a harness).
