We went to do a Signature Burger Bar Riva review at Disney’s Riviera Resort. Does this upscale poolside burger make one of the best Disney World lunches?

The Signature Burger at Bar Riva at Disney’s Riviera Resort is one of those menu items that sounds like it was designed in a boardroom where someone said, “What if a pool bar burger had luxury resort energy?” Located at Bar Riva, this burger promises elevated ingredients in a casual setting, and surprisingly, it mostly delivers.

For guests staying at Disney’s Riviera Resort, Skyliner resort-hoppers, or anyone hunting for a quality lunch away from the parks, this burger has quietly earned a reputation among Walt Disney World food fans. Still, does it actually deserve the praise, or is it simply benefiting from the glow of one of Disney’s most beautiful resorts? We previously enjoyed the Grilled Vegetable Pita at Bar Riva. Would this trip be the same? Over recent months, we have heard mixed results. We know changes have been made to the Signature Burger Bar Riva sells. Thus, we needed to find out for ourselves.
What Is the Signature Burger Bar Riva?

According to the official Walt Disney World menu, the Signature Burger includes a signature beef blend topped with brie cheese, caramelized onions, balsamic glaze, and black garlic aïoli, served with fries. This immediately sets it apart from the average theme park burger by leaning into richer, more upscale flavors rather than basic cheese-and-bacon territory. Additionally, the Signature Burger Bar Riva costs $18.29, which is below table-service dining prices. However, the price is higher than most quick-service burgers. Based on that, guests should set expectations below the wonderful table-service level burgers at Walt Disney World.
Signature Burger Bar Riva: First Impressions

The burger arrives looking far more polished than the standard quick-service offering. The bun is neatly assembled, toppings are evenly distributed. However, they are assembled in an interesting way. The brie is on one side of the burger while the onions are on the other side. This did not have a signficant influence during our meal, but it is worth noting in case you get only onions or only brie cheese.
Either way, this is not a “grab it while sprinting to Lightning Lane” burger. It’s a sit-down, relax, enjoy-the-view burger. Of course, at Disney’s Riviera Resort, the view helps.
Bar Riva’s poolside setting brings a laid-back Mediterranean vibe that elevates the meal before you even take a bite. There’s something about palm trees, open-air seating, and Walt Disney World vacation energy that makes fries taste better. Speaking of the fries: they are standard Walt Disney World shoestring fries. However, Bar Riva gave us plenty of them and attempted to elevate them with some Parmesan cheese on top.
Signature Burger Bar Riva Taste Test: The Beef Patty

The signature beef blend is juicy, flavorful, and noticeably better than many standard burgers across Walt Disney World property. It has a richer, more substantial taste than the thinner patties served at many quick-service spots. Overall, on this day, the burger provided a good balance of flavor and substance. The burger patty could have stood on its own entertaining guests’ taste buds.
Most importantly, it can hold its own against the toppings. That matters because this burger stacks several bold ingredients together. If the beef were bland, the whole thing would become a creamy cheese distraction. Instead, the patty provides balance and keeps the burger grounded. In fairness, we had several previous reports that the burger patty preparation has been poor recently. On this visit, we were pleasantly suprised by the burger patty quality. Is it at the level of the signature burgers at Walt Disney World table service restaurants? No way! Was the burger patty far more flavorful than all quick-service options at Walt Disney World? Absolutely!
Brie Cheese: Fancy but Functional

Brie on a burger sounds like something that could go wrong quickly. Too much and it becomes a slippery dairy blanket. Too little and it feels pointless. In this case, it mostly works.
The brie melts into a creamy layer that adds richness without overwhelming the beef. It feels upscale, but not gimmicky. Instead of shouting for attention, it complements the burger’s savory core. In simpler terms: this burger wears loafers, not clown shoes.
Signature Burger Bar Riva: Black Garlic Aioli Plays Its Part
If there’s one ingredient that makes the Signature Burger memorable, it’s the black garlic aïoli. Black garlic has a sweeter, deeper flavor than raw garlic, with subtle notes almost reminiscent of balsamic or molasses. Mixed into the aïoli, it creates a smooth, savory sauce that ties the whole burger together. Without it, this would still be a good burger. With it, this becomes a burger people remember.
Caramelized Onions and Balsamic Glaze

Caramelized onions bring softness and sweetness, while the balsamic glaze adds acidity that cuts through the richness of the cheese and sauce. When properly balanced, these toppings add depth and complexity. If applied too heavily, the balsamic can become slightly overpowering. On most visits, though, Disney’s kitchen gets the ratio right. It’s a smart combination that helps the burger feel more restaurant-quality than theme park standard.
Fries and Portion Size
The included fries are crisp, dependable, and exactly what you want alongside a rich burger. They’re not revolutionary, but they don’t need to be. Portion-wise, the meal is satisfying for lunch and substantial enough for most adults. You’ll likely leave full, though perhaps emotionally prepared to justify the price tag.
Signature Burger Bar Riva: Is It Worth the Price?
Like most resort dining at Walt Disney World, the Signature Burger is priced above what you’d expect outside the Walt Disney World bubble. However, compared to many premium burgers on property, this one earns its cost more than most.
You’re paying for:
- Better ingredients
- Stronger execution
- A beautiful resort setting
- Walt Disney World convenience
- The chance to say you ate brie by the pool
By Walt Disney World standards, it’s reasonable value.
Atmosphere Counts

Dining at Bar Riva matters almost as much as the food itself. Riviera Resort is one of Disney’s most elegant hotels, and Bar Riva feels like a hidden gem compared with busier food courts and park restaurants. It’s quieter and calmer, ideal for a midday break. Even if the burger were merely average, the setting would help. Fortunately for us, the burger was genuinely good.
The Signature Burger Bar Riva is one of the best non-table-service burgers at Walt Disney World resorts. It blends premium toppings with a quality patty and feels elevated without becoming overly complicated.

It’s not cheap, but it’s flavorful, satisfying, and worth trying if you’re visiting Riviera Resort or doing a Disney Skyliner dining crawl. Some Disney burgers are forgettable. Still, this one has standards. As long as it does not get compared to the top table-service restaurant’s burgers, it deserves to be called “Signature.”
