Halloween treats are creeping out of the crypt, and Rita’s Zombie Blood is back at Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard. The spooky cherry flavor is listed among the Italian Ice flavors on Rita’s official treats menu. Orlando-area fans can hunt it down at several shops near Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando.

What Is Rita’s Zombie Blood?

Rita’s Zombie Blood is a cherry-forward Italian Ice that has shown up in past Halloween seasons. Tasting Table describes the flavor as a mix of wild black cherry and regular cherry. During an earlier season, a Virginia shopping center promoted it as a new Halloween treat for October. Think of it as the ghoulish cousin of the cherry ice you already know, with a name that sounds like it belongs in a haunted house. Like every Rita’s flavor, it can be ordered the usual ways. The Rita’s menu includes straight Italian Ice, layered Gelati (Italian Ice stacked with frozen custard), Ice Blenders, and Gelati Blenders.

Where to Find Rita’s Near Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando

These Rita’s shops are in the surrounding Orlando area. Use the Rita’s store locator or call ahead to confirm your shop has Zombie’s Blood on the menu, since flavors vary by location.

  • International Drive: 5931 International Drive, Orlando, FL 32819, phone 407-313-9452. This is the handiest stop for Universal Orlando guests staying along the I-Drive corridor
  • Waterford Lakes: 12496 Lake Underhill Road, Suite 150, Orlando, FL 32828, phone 321-260-2339. This shop is in east Orlando, so plan on a longer drive from the resort areas.
  • Kissimmee: 847 Cypress Parkway, Kissimmee, FL 34759, in The Promenade shopping center. Rita’s lists this shop on its website as Rita’s of Poinciana, and it sits south of the Disney area.
  • Theme park shops: Rita’s also scoops at SeaWorld Orlando near Manta, Aquatica Orlando, and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. The SeaWorld menu highlights flavors like Cherry and Cotton Candy, so confirm Zombie’s Blood is available before you commit.

Zombie’s Blood joins a busy year of seasonal drops at Rita’s. Here is a look back at some recent limited-time treats:

  • Shirley Temple Italian Ice: Debuted July 20 with sweet cherry and bright citrus flavors plus shimmering Shirley Sparkle. It came as a Shirley Temple Ice Gelati, a Shirley Temple Ice Blender, and a Shirley Temple Misto Shake.
  • Rita’s fall lineup: Pumpkin Frozen Coffee, Pumpkin Pie Concrete, Apple Butter Milkshake, and Apple Butter Concrete.

Both Shirley Temple and Zombie’s Blood lean cherry, so Rita’s clearly knows what sells.
