We reviewed the new Pulled Pork Sliders Disney just introduced at Eight Spoon Café—see if this $7.99 snack is worth the stop.

Earlier this month, Walt Disney World announced that several new menu items would be available at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. One location where new menu items appeared was Eight Spoon Cafe.

Eight Spoon Café, in the Discovery Island area of Disney’s Animal Kingdom near the Tree of Life, adjusted its menu. So, we went to try one of the new items. This food and beverage kiosk is typically open from around 10:30 AM until mid-afternoon. When planning to visit the Animal Kingdom food and beverage kiosks, keep in mind that many of them close early, such as 3:00 p.m.

The seating is limited near the kiosk. However, plenty of seating is available, as the Eight Spoon Café is conveniently located near Flame Tree Barbecue, which features its own outdoor seating area.
Pulled Pork Sliders Disney World at Eight Spoon Cafe

The new Pulled Pork Sliders at Eight Spoon Café were our focus. The Pulled Pork Sliders cost $7.99, continuing the trend at this quick service stand to provide lower-cost snacks for guests. The menu description for them reads, “Pulled Pork with Tangy Barbecue Sauce on Hawaiian Rolls with House-made Chips and Pickles.”
The ordering process to get these sliders was seamless. The cast members performed exceptionally well. Guests get two sliders and a good portion of chips. For the $7.99 price, these looked like a great value for a light lunch or a snack.

These sliders come with a pickle on the pulled pork. In fairness, we do not prefer pickles. However, on this day, the pickles did nothing to help with the sliders. In fact, when we removed them from the sliders, our group believed the sliders improved as a result. The pickles are not of the highest quality.
These pulled pork sliders will not dazzle any barbecue connoisseur. The pulled pork tastes similar to the Flame Tree Barbecue version. Since Eight Spoon Café is not far from that quick service restaurant, we guess this pork comes from the same kitchen and preparation method.
For two small sliders, the portion size of pulled pork in them exceeds what guests would expect. When evaluating Walt Disney World dining for value, it earns high marks. Although these may lack the quality we would find at places like The Polite Pig, they are only $7.99 with chips. Theme park visitors will often sacrifice quality to see a larger portion size, which keeps them going from attraction to attraction.
Concerns

On the negative side, the buns are average for a quick service level. The bottom ones will get soggy while trying to sustain all the pork. We used a fork to eat one of our sliders. It did not detract from the flavor.
The Disney house-made chips were not as good for our group as usual. However, they presented a light seasoning that was unfamiliar to us, but it helped enhance the flavor and enjoyment. Nevertheless, as we ate more of the chips, we found a higher percentage of stale ones. Sure, that hinders this dish, but not enough to make it a snack to avoid.

In conclusion, this new Walt Disney World menu item should satisfy most guests. Those keeping in mind that these are a protein-filled snack will be pleased. These are Pulled Pork Sliders Disney World guests can grab between rides—affordable, filling, and served fresh at Animal Kingdom. Also, the new Pulled Pork Sliders Disney World added to the Eight Spoon Café menu at Animal Kingdom deliver great value.
