Portillo’s is famously known for its legendary Chocolate Cake, but a new contender has entered the ring. The Chicago-based chain is spreading the joy with a limited-edition Birthday Cake and Birthday Cake Shake, available at locations nationwide through April 6.

Portillo’s Birthday Cake: A Sweet Celebration

The new dessert features two “melt-in-your-mouth” layers baked fresh daily in-restaurant. Sticking to the nostalgic classic, the cake is packed with Funfetti rainbow sprinkles, topped with rich vanilla frosting, and finished with even more sprinkles.

Anniversary Milestones

The timing isn’t accidental. The launch coincides with two major milestones:

• The one-year anniversary of Portillo’s Perks loyalty program.
• The 63rd anniversary of the original Portillo’s Dog House hot dog stand, which first opened in April 1963.
