If you’ve ever wondered what happens when Hollywood glitz meets a mountain of tortilla chips, look no further than Nachos Grande Planet Hollywood at Disney Springs. This star-studded appetizer combines the flair of a movie premiere with the unapologetic comfort of cheesy, chili-covered nachos.

Setting the Scene

Planet Hollywood Disney Springs doesn’t do subtle. The giant blue globe looms large, filled with movie memorabilia, big screens, and enough flashing lights to make you feel like you’ve stumbled into a film set. Down on the first floor, the lighting is so low you might mistake it for a moody action sequence. Guests regularly use their phone flashlights to read the menu. (No judgment. Every good meal deserves a spotlight.)

During a recent late lunch, the Nachos Grande Planet Hollywood arrived before the beverage did. That was a plot twist no one saw coming. The server also explained that the drink had taken a detour to the wrong table. A classic comedy of errors, but the show went on.

A Little Nacho Backstory

Before diving into this blockbuster, it’s worth remembering that nachos themselves are a relatively recent invention. They were supposedly created in 1943 by Ignacio “Nacho” Anaya García, who improvised the first batch for a group of hungry shoppers using tortilla chips, cheese, and jalapeños. Decades later, his spur-of-the-moment creation has gone full Hollywood. The Nachos Grande Planet Hollywood turned that humble snack into a full production.

Here’s the official cast list of ingredients:

Corn tortilla chips piled high with chili, four cheese sauce, olives, jalapeños, pico de gallo, sour cream, and guacamole — serves two or more.

The price of admission is $19.99, but you’re getting a serving that could feed a duo or challenge a solo diner with something to prove. Around the restaurant, groups of three and four couldn’t conquer it. That stands as proof that Nachos Grande Planet Hollywood really lives up to its “Grande” billing. In case you’re wondering, our group demolished the Nachos Grande Planet Hollywood creation easily, of course!

As for the flavor? The chips are average but abundant. The guacamole is standard fare, but the combination of pico de gallo, chili, cheese, and ground meat is where the real flavor magic happens. Yes, the chips get soggy as the meal goes on, but so do audience members during a sad movie montage. However, it’s all part of the experience.

The Atmosphere

Kids and tweens will find plenty of entertainment while snacking. During our most recent visit, “Let It Go” played on the big screen, and half the restaurant joined in singing “the cold never bothered me anyway.” It’s hard to imagine a more Disney Springs moment.

Final Take on the Nachos Grande Planet Hollywood

Nachos Grande Planet Hollywood

Nachos Grande Planet Hollywood might not earn Michelin stars, but it wins big for portion size, shareability, and pure spectacle. It’s the kind of snack that feels right at home in a restaurant celebrating movie excess, fun, familiar, and large enough to feed a small film crew. While it does not match up to the Volcano Nachos at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville at Universal CityWalk Orlando, few nachos can compare to those!

Verdict:
3.5 out of 5 stars – Cheesy, hearty, and cinematic. These nachos are ready for their close-up.
