Disney Cruise Line’s next big adventure, the Disney Destiny, is well underway — and by the looks of things, it’s shaping up to be a voyage unlike any other. Scheduled to set sail on its maiden voyage November 20, 2025, from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, this brand-new vessel promises to take Disney storytelling to epic new heights, with larger-than-life heroes, fabulously flashy villains, and immersive themed spaces.

Let’s take a peek into the latest developments straight from the shipyard in Papenburg, Germany — and trust us, there’s plenty to marvel at.

Spider-Man Swings into Action — Literally

Dinsey DEstiny Cruise Ship

Say hello to Disney Cruise Line’s first-ever Marvel stern character! Earlier this week, shipbuilders at the Meyer Werft shipyard made Marvel history by hoisting a giant Spider-Man sculpture onto the back of the Disney Destiny. But this isn’t your average statue — it’s a kinetic visual treat featuring Spider-Man mid-swing, joined by three mischievous Spider-Bots equipped with cruise-ready accessories like sunglasses and a snorkel mask.

The bots aren’t just tagging along for fun either. They’re playfully “painting” the ship’s geometric filigree with yellow-dipped brushes — a clever nod to the web-slinger’s trademark agility and flair.

When guests arrive at Port Everglades, Spider-Man and his Spider-Bots will be the first to welcome them aboard, setting the tone for a cruise packed with comic-worthy excitement.

Villainous Vibes: Step Into Cruella’s Wickedly Chic World

Cruella de Vil is also making her way onto the high seas — and she’s doing it in style. As part of the Destiny’s villain-themed experiences, guests can indulge in a night of elegance and evil at De Vil’s, a swanky new piano lounge just beyond the ship’s Grand Hall.

Look for a grand marquee spelling out “De Vil’s” in piano-key lettering, leading guests into a glamourous space with couture-style seating, lavish textures, and dramatic pops of red, black, and white. A spotted grand piano takes center stage, anchoring the lounge in Cruella’s over-the-top aesthetic.

A floor mosaic at the entrance even spells out her favorite phrase — “How Marvelous” — surrounded by 15 paw prints. Every design element pays tribute to Ken Anderson, the Disney legend behind the visual styling of One Hundred and One Dalmatians. And for those who can’t wait until November, Disney has shared a downloadable wallpaper using the piano’s pattern so you can start channeling your inner fashion-forward villain now.

Sweet Surprises Await Young Cruisers on the Disney Destiny Cruise Ship

Kids on board the Disney Destiny will be racing straight to Disney’s Oceaneer Club, where a life-sized Sugar Rush experience from Wreck-It Ralph awaits. Disney Imagineers are crafting a world made entirely of candy — think chocolate- and caramel-outlined racetracks, vibrant sweets-themed lighting, and carpets designed to mimic the speedway from the film.

Guarding the entrance will be statues of Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope von Schweetz, who represent the ship’s core theme: the idea that villains can become heroes too. Imagineer Meg Tracy has personally overseen the painting process to make sure these iconic characters match their animated counterparts perfectly.

The statues will soon take their place on Deck 2, ready to welcome young adventurers into a world of arcade action and candy-coated fun.

Other Updates About Disney Destiny Cruise Ship

In a recent update by Disney about the Disney Destiny cruise ship, we learned other information. This includes:” Show development for “Disney Hercules” is in full swing! Earlier this month, Disney Live Entertainment traveled to Nashville, Tenn. to record the music for the new Broadway-style stage show, debuting exclusively on the Disney Destiny

A small group of singers from Orlando, Fla. joined forces with a 17-voice choir of some of Nashville’s greatest gospel singers to reimagine the iconic soundtrack from the Walt Disney Animation Studios film with a soulful, high-energy twist. A fresh take on the musical arrangements was brought to life by an orchestra of nearly 70 talented musicians, plus a 10-piece marching band drumline.

The group dedicated more than 50 hours to producing the 55-minute soundtrack for the show, which includes an all-new theatrical rendition of “Shooting Star” – a song originally written for the film that didn’t make the final cut! With the music complete, the team will continue developing show elements like props, choreography and costumes in preparation for future cruise guests this November.
